Phil Gulliver
Philip Stephen Gulliver (born 12 September 1982) is an English footballer who played in the Football League for Blackpool, Carlisle United, AFC Bournemouth, Bury, Scunthorpe United, Rushden & Diamonds and Hereford United. Since 2008 he has played for Corby Town. He played as a central defender for King's Lynn Town. Until he was released in October 2013 Career Gulliver was born in Bishop Auckland, County Durham. He was a trainee at Middlesbrough where he was a key member of their reserve side but never made a first team appearance. He made his league debut on 30 November 2002 while on loan at Blackpool, in the starting eleven for the Division Two game against Notts County which finished 1–1. He also spent a month at Carlisle United, and finished the season at AFC Bournemouth, where he helped the Cherries gain promotion from Division Three via the playoffs. Bishop Auckland
Bishop Auckland () is a market town and civil parish at the confluence of the River Wear and the River Gaunless in County Durham, northern England. It is northwest of Darlington and southwest of Durham. Much of the town's early history surrounds the Bishops of Durham and the establishment of Auckland Castle's predecessor, a hunting lodge, which became the main residence of Durham Bishops. This is reflected in the first part of the town's name. During the Industrial Revolution, the town grew rapidly as coal mining took hold as an important industry. The National League North, formerly Conference North, is a division of the National League in England, immediately below the National League division. In professional association football, a free transfer, also known as a Bosman transfer, involves a professional association football club releasing a player when the player's contract has expired or made available just before the end of the contract. The player can then go on to sign for any club offering a contract to them.
