Phil Campbell (born 1972) is an American author and documentary producer. He is the author of the book ''Zioncheck for President'' upon which the film ''Grassroots (film), Grassroots'' is based. The book, a mix of memoir and gonzo reporting, is set around Campbell's time as campaign manager for a Seattle city council candidate. The book's title references Marion Zioncheck, a United States House of Representatives, United States Congressman from the state of Washington (state), Washington who committed suicide in 1936. Campbell is also the organizer of the Phil Campbell Convention, held since 1995 in Phil Campbell, Alabama. He also organized the "I'm With Phil" campaign, a relief effort to help the residents of the town after a devastating 2011 Hackleburg–Phil Campbell tornado, tornado. Phil Campbell (agricultural Commissioner)
James Philander Campbell, Jr. (April 9, 1917 – June 22, 1998) was an American pilot, farmer, government official, and politician from Georgia. Campbell was born in Athens, Georgia and graduated from Athens High School in 1934. He received his bachelor's degree in agriculture from the University of Georgia. Career Campbell served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He was a pilot and bombardier and was commissioned a first lieutenant in the United States Army. After the war, Campbell owned a farm in Oconee County, Georgia. Campbell served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1948 to 1954 and was a Democrat. He then served as Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture from 1954 to 1969. In 1968, Campbell switched to the Republican Party. Phil Campbell (musician)
Philip Anthony Campbell (born 7 May 1961) is a Welsh rock musician, best known as the lead guitarist in Motörhead from 1984 to 2015. The band disbanded upon the death of founder and frontman Lemmy. He currently tours with his own band Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, featuring his three sons: Todd, Dane and Tyla. Early life and career Campbell was born in Pontypridd, and started playing guitar when he was 10 years old, inspired and influenced by guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, Jan Akkerman, Michael Schenker and Todd Rundgren. At the age of 12, Campbell met Lemmy after a Hawkwind gig and asked him for an autograph. By the age of 13, Campbell was playing semi-professionally with a cabaret band called Contrast. The Temperance Movement (band)
The Temperance Movement are a British blues rock band formed in 2011 by Glasgow-born vocalist Phil Campbell (formally of the rock band White Buffalo) and guitarists Luke Potashnick and Paul Sayer. The rhythm section consists of bassist Nick Fyffe and the Australian-born drummer Damon Wilson. The band released their ''Pride EP'' in 2012, and their eponymous debut studio album was released on 16 September 2013. Collectively the band have a rich history of experience, having previously played with Rooster, Ben's Brother, Jamiroquai, Ray Davies, The Waterboys and Feeder.
