Phil Brady
Phil Brady (died 6 May 1980) was a Gaelic footballer who played for the Cavan county team. He won All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals in 1947, 1948, and 1952. Playing career Brady was a tough, strong versatile footballer, he scored a point to help Cavan win the All-Ireland Final in the Polo Grounds, New York City in 1947. He formed a brilliant midfield partnership with Victor Sherlock in the 1948 final and he lined out at full-back in the 1952 all-Ireland final. Victor become his brother-in-law in 1953. He also won a National Football League medal in 1949/50 season. He collected a Railway Cup medal with Ulster in 1950. Paul Brady (handballer)
Paul Brady (born 20 September 1979) is an Irish handball and Gaelic football player. Born in Cavan, he won his fifth Men's Singles title in a row at the 2015 at Calgary, Canada. He defeated Killian Carroll from Cork in the final as the Irish dominated the singles with the four semi final berths taken by Irish players. His rivalry with Luis Moreno has been likened to the Federer–Nadal rivalry in tennis. Brady will likely attempt to achieve the record of 12 US National singles titles, which will take him to 2018 and just weeks short of his 39th birthday. Brady has stated he won't compete for his 6th World Handball Championship in 2018. The GAA Interprovincial Championship ( ga, An Corn Idir-Chúigeach) or Railway Cup (''Corn an Iarnróid'') is the name of two annual Gaelic football and hurling competitions held between the provinces of Ireland. The Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster GAA teams are composed of the best players from the counties in each province. The games are organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The Railway Cup was a revival of the Railway Shield which ran from 1905 to 1907 (football) and from 1905 to 1908 (hurling). The first Railway Cup competitions (the name is due to the donation of the trophy by Irish Rail) were held in 1927, with Munster winning the first football title and Leinster winning the first hurling title. Victor Sherlock
Victor Sherlock (1924–2004) was a Gaelic footballer who played for Meath and Cavan. Among other honours, he won All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals in 1948 and 1952 with Cavan. Playing career Sherlock was a versatile footballer. He played left half forward with Meath winning the 1945/46 National Football League beating Wexford 2-2 to 6 pts and he won a Leinster Senior Football Championship medal in 1947. He then transferred to Cavan where he formed a brilliant midfield partnership with Phil 'The Gunner' Brady and scored a goal against Mayo in the 1948 Final. Phil Brady become his brother-in-law in 1953. He won his 2nd National Football League medal in 1949/50 season. He collected 4 Railway Cup medals with Ulster. Sherlock received many Ulster handball championship medals and one Junior All-Ireland singles medal in 1949. Mullahoran GFC
Mullahoran GAA is a Gaelic games club from County Cavan in Ireland. Founded in 1888, it is affiliated to Cavan GAA. The club's nickname is ''the Dreadnoughts''. It is a rural club located in the parish of Mullahoran in south Cavan, approximately 10 miles from Cavan town. Gaelic football, rounders, hurling and handball are played at the club and numerous county and national honours have been won in the past in these codes. Gaelic football Mullahoran have the third-best record in the Cavan Championship with 12 wins, the first being in 1935 and the most recent in 2012.
