Phetjee Jaa Or.Meekun
Phetjee Jaa Or.Meekun (เพชรจีจ้า อ.มีคุณ; born December 31, 2001) is a Thai professional boxer and Muay Thai fighter. In Muay Thai, she has won world titles under the WPMF and WMC banners. In boxing, she has won a bronze medal at the 2021 SEA Games. She currently competes as a Muay Thai fighter under contract with ONE Championship. Background PhetJee Jaa started Muay Thai at the age of seven with her uncles. She rapidly became known in the provinces of Thailand as the girl who could defeat boys, at the age of 10 she had over 100 fights, more than 70 of them against boys. In 2013 PhetJee Jaa was stopped from competing against boys due to the laws of Thailand as her fights were starting to get televised. Having to compete only against women she is outweighed by most of her opponents. In 2018 she joined the Thai national boxing team with the hope of qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics. Lumpinee Stadium
Lumpinee Boxing Stadium ( th, สนามเวทีมวยลุมพินี) is a sporting arena in Bangkok, Thailand. The stadium is named after Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha. Opened more than a decade later than Rajadamnern Stadium, Lumpinee is run by the Royal Thai Army. It has become the symbol of modern Muay Thai. Only Rajadamnern Stadium rivals the prestige of holding the title of "Muay Thai Champion of Lumpinee". The ranking system and championship titles are held from mini flyweight (105 lb) up to super welterweight (154 lb). Muay Thai bouts are held on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Bang Phli ( th, บางพลี, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Samut Prakan province in Thailand. It is home to Suvarnabhumi Airport (also called (New) Bangkok International Airport), which opened on 28 September 2006 as Thailand's primary airport. The district was part of the once-proposed Nakhon Suvarnabhumi province. World Muay Thai Council
The World Muaythai Council (WMC) is one of the oldest and the largest professional sanctioning organizations of Muaythai in the world for the sport. The organization was set up in 1995 by parliament resolution, and is incorporated by the Royal Thai Government and sanctioned by the Sports Authority of Thailand, under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. The council has been charged with the responsibility for the expansion of Muaythai worldwide. This involves supporting youth interest and athletes to learn the skills of Muaythai.
