Phelim Duffin
Phelim Duffin (born September 1995) is an Irish hurling, hurler who plays for Antrim Senior Hurling Championship, Antrim Senior Championship club Dunloy GAC, Dunloy and at inter-county level with the Antrim senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a wing-forward. Career A member of the Dunloy GAC, Dunloy club, Cunning first came to prominence with the club's senior team that won Antrim Senior Hurling Championship, County Championship titles in 2017, 2019 and 2020. He made his first appearance on the inter-county scene as a member of the Antrim senior hurling team during the 2019 Kehoe Cup and has since won a Joe McDonagh Cup title. Dunloy () is a village and townland in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is located north of Ballymena and north-west is Ballymoney. It is located in the civil parishes in Ireland, civil parish of Finvoy, in the former Barony (Ireland), barony of Kilconway. Hurling ( ga, iománaíocht, ') is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic Irish origin, played by men. One of Ireland's native Gaelic games, it shares a number of features with Gaelic football, such as the field and goals, the number of players and much terminology. The same game played by women is called camogie ('), which shares a common Gaelic root. The objective of the game is for players to use an ash wood stick called a hurley (in Irish a ', pronounced or ) to hit a small ball called a ' between the opponent's goalposts either over the crossbar for one point or under the crossbar into a net guarded by a goalkeeper for three points. Antrim Senior Hurling Championship
The Antrim Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Bathshack.com Antrim Senior Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Antrim SHC) is an annual club hurling competition organised by the Antrim County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. It is contested by the top-ranking senior clubs in the county of Antrim, Northern Ireland, with the winners decided through a group and knockout format. It is the most prestigious competition in Antrim hurling. In its present format, the eight teams are drawn into two groups of four teams and play each other in a single round-robin system. The two group winners proceed to the knockout phase that culminates with the final. The winner of the Antrim Senior Championship, as well as being presented with the Volunteer Cup, qualifies for the subsequent Ulster Club Championship. Antrim Senior Hurling Team
The Antrim county hurling team represents Antrim GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association, in the Gaelic sport of hurling. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship and the National Hurling League. It also contests the Ulster Senior Hurling Championship when the competition is run, winning the latest title in 2017. Antrim's home ground is Casement Park, Belfast. 2019 Kehoe Cup
The 2019 Kehoe Cup was an inter-county hurling competition based mainly in the province of Leinster in which Antrim from Ulster also took part. The Kehoe Cup is ranked below the Walsh Cup (tier 1). Five county teams competed – , , , and . It took place in December 2018 and January 2019. Westmeath were the winners. The Kehoe Shield was revived in 2019. The Joe McDonagh Cup is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It forms the second tier of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship and is the second highest level of inter-county championship hurling competition in Ireland. 2020 Joe McDonagh Cup
The 2020 Joe McDonagh Cup was the third staging of the Joe McDonagh Cup since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 2018. The competition was initially scheduled to begin on 10 May 2020 and end on 29 June 2020. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Gaelic games, the first-round games were delayed until 25 October 2020. Laois, the 2019 champions, were promoted to the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship, while Offaly were relegated to the Christy Ring Cup. Meath and Carlow entered the cup. On 13 December 2020, Antrim won the Joe McDonagh Cup after a 0–22 to 1–17 win over Kerry in the final at Croke Park. It was their first ever title.
