Prior to the 2014 timetable change the station was called Pfungen-Neftenbach, but it was shortened as it serves Pfungen and has no connections to Neftenbach Neftenbach is a municipality in the district of Winterthur in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. Pfungen is a municipality in the district of Winterthur in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. History Pfungen is first mentioned in 993 as ''Funginga''. Geography Pfungen has an area of . Of this area, 32.3% is used for agricultural purposes, while 41.6% is forested.
