Pfeiffer House is a heritage-listed detached house at 2–6 Paull Street, Charters Towers City, Charters Towers, Charters Towers Region, Queensland, Australia. It was built . It is also known as Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Day Dawn House. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992. History The building currently the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was constructed as a private residence by Charters Towers mining magnate Frederick Pfeiffer in close to his gold mine. Discovered in late 1871, Charters Towers became the richest of the North Queensland mining fields. It was proclaimed a municipality in 1877 and the construction of the Great Northern railway created easy access to the port at Townsville, solving the problem of high freight costs experienced by many other mining fields. Pfeiffer House (Pfeiffer, Arkansas)
The Pfeiffer House is a historic house on United States Route 167 in Pfeiffer, Arkansas. Located on the west side the highway, north of its junction with Pfeiffer Road, it is a single-story stone structure with an extreme vernacular interpretation of American Craftsman styling. It has a hip roof with long eaves, supported by a series of elongated knee braces, and its corners and windows are irregularly quoined with lighter-colored Batesville "marble" (actually limestone), which constitutes the building's principal building material. The house was built in 1924 by Joseph Pfeiffer, a stonecutter and owner of the Pfeiffer Quarry, which provided the stone for the Arkansas State Capitol and is credited for doing some of that building's elaborate stonework. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The Hemingway-Pfeiffer House, also known as the Pfeiffer House and Carriage House, is a historic house museum at 10th and Cherry Streets in Piggott, Arkansas. It is where novelist Ernest Hemingway wrote portions of his 1929 novel ''A Farewell to Arms''. Hemingway was married to Pauline Pfeiffer, the daughter of the owners of the house, Paul and Mary Pfeiffer. Overview Pauline Pfeiffer, Hemingway's second wife, had grown up in the home. Her uncle Gustavus Pfeiffer was a benefactor of the couple, even financing an African safari trip that inspired Hemingway's ''The Green Hills of Africa''.Jones, Janie, and Wyatt. Netcott-Pfeiffer House
Netcott-Pfeiffer House is a historic building located in Parkersburg, Iowa, United States. The Italianate style double house was built in 1894 by George Netcott, Jr. and his son George A. Netcott. Harry E. Netcott, another of George Jr.'s sons, is believed to have designed the house. George A. Netcott sold the house in 1896 to Gustavus A. Pfeiffer, a pharmacist, and his brother Paul, a local banker and land baron. The brothers, who were also humanitarians and philanthropists, lived here together with their families until Gustavus moved to St. Louis in 1901. Paul's daughter Pauline was a journalist and the second wife of Ernest Hemingway. She lived in the house from 1896 to 1901. The house is also associated with physicist Edwin Thompson Jaynes, who lived here from 1929 to 1942 with his mother after his father's death.
