José Miguel Pey De Andrade
José Miguel Pey y García de Andrade (March 11, 1763 – August 17, 1838) was a Colombian statesman and soldier and a leader of the independence movement from Spain. He is considered the first vice president and first president of Colombia. He was a centralist. Background Pey, a Criollo, was born on March 11, 1763 in Santa Fe de Bogotá, New Granada into a distinguished family. His father, Juan Francisco Pey, was an ''oidor'' of the '' Audiencia'' of Santa Fe de Bogotá, one of the most important positions at the time. Pey studied at the '' Colegio Mayor de San Bartolomé'', graduating as a lawyer in 1787. Under the rule of Viceroy Antonio José Amar y Borbón, Pey was elected ''alcalde'' of Bogotá, replacing José Antonio de Ugarte in January 1810. Within a few months, various independence riots broke out around the viceroyalty, and the turmoil soon arrived in the capital. Pey De Garros
Pey de Garros ( modern Gascon: ''Pèir de Garròs''; 1530–1585), was the most important Occitan poet of the Renaissance. He was instrumental in the evolution of the Gascon dialect into a literary language. Garros was born at Lectoure, Gascony. He studied law, theology, and Hebrew at the University of Toulouse and served as the ''avocat-général'' of Pau for a time. He strove to restore the Gascon dialect to prominence, translating the Psalms into Gascon in 1565, as well as publishing a volume of poetry (''Poesias Gasconas'') in 1567. Víctor Pey
Víctor Pey Casado (31 August 1915 – 5 October 2018) was a Spanish-born Chilean engineer, professor and businessman. He was born in Madrid, the son of writer and priest Segismundo Pey Ordeix, and Manuela Casado, from Valladolid. At the age of two, he moved with his family to Barcelona. During the Spanish Civil War, he fought on the Republican side and was a member to the Durruti Column. He formed part of the Spanish government in exile as a technical advisor to the War Industries Commission of Catalonia. He crossed the Pyrenees into France on 25 January 1939, was interned by French authorities and sent to a prison camp at Perpignan. In September 1939, Pablo Neruda arranged that Pey and his family board the SS Winnipeg for Chile. After arriving in Santiago, he found work as a surveyor, together with the engineer José Saitúa, who was in charge of the construction of an aqueduct between Laguna Negra and Santiago. Pey, Netherlands
Pey (also: ''Peij''; ) is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is a part of the municipality of Echt-Susteren. It is located to the east of the Echt and is separated from Echt by the railway line. It is located about north of Sittard. History The village was first mentioned in 1403 as Pede, and means "swamp". The popular interpretation as peace is not correct. The official spelling of the village is Pey, but Peij is still often used. Pey is a road village which started to develop in the 19th century on the road from Echt to Waldfeucht, Germany. The Catholic Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church is three aisled basilica church in Gothic Revival style. It was built between 1856 and 1861, and was designed by Pierre Cuypers. Between 1927 and 1928, annexes were added to the church and were designed by Joseph Cuypers. The war damage was repaired between 1947 and 1948. Pey was home to 434 people in 1840. Echt-Susteren (; li, Ech-Zöstere ) is a municipality in the southeastern Netherlands. Echt-Susteren was created in 2003 by merging the former municipalities of Echt and Susteren. Echt-Susteren is situated in a Euregional area. In the west the municipality borders to Belgium and in the east to Germany. The narrowest is only 4.8 km wide. Penong Airport
__NOTOC__ Penong ( ) is a town and locality on the Nullarbor Plain, in the far west of the state of South Australia located about north-west of the state capital of Adelaide. With no settlements between it and Border Village on the border with Western Australia, 400 km (250 mi) away on the Eyre Highway, it is a popular rest-stop for travellers. The 2016 Australian census recorded that the localities of Penong and the small farming community of Bookabie (including the Scotdesco Aboriginal community), 35 km (22 mi) to Penong's west, had a population of 289 people. Petjo, also known as Petjoh, Petjok, Pecok, Petjoek ( pey, Peco') is a Dutch-based creole language that originated among the Indos, people of mixed Dutch and Indonesian ancestry in the former Dutch East Indies. The language has influences from Dutch and then depending on the region Javanese, Malay, Sundanese and Betawi. Its speakers presently live mostly in Indonesia and the Netherlands. The language is expected to become gradually extinct by the end of the 21st century, due to Indos' shift toward Indonesian in Indonesia and Dutch in the Netherlands.
