Petya Nedelcheva
Petya Nedelcheva ( bg, Петя Неделчева; born 30 July 1983) is a Bulgarian badminton player. She was born in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. At the Bulgarian National Badminton Championships she won more than 20 titles. Career A right-handed Nedelcheva became a professional badminton player since 1999, when she competed at the Balkan Games Championships. In 2001, she won bronze medals at the European Junior Badminton Championships in the girls' singles and doubles event. She also won the silver medal at the 2010 European Badminton Championships in the women's doubles event partnered with Anastasia Russkikh of Russia. At the 2014 European Badminton Championships she won bronze partnered with Imogen Bankier from Scotland. In 2015, she settled for bronze at the Baku 2015 European Games in the women's singles event. 2015 BWF World Championships
The 2015 BWF World Championships was a badminton tournament which was held from 10 to 16 August 2015 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Host city selection Jakarta and Kunshan submitted bids to host the championships. Jakarta was awarded to host the event by Badminton World Federation after winning by 1 vote difference. Wong Mew Choo
Datin Wong Mew Choo (born 1 May 1983) is a Malaysian former badminton singles player. She was known for her exceptional stamina and endurance. Without any significant attacking weapons, she initially built her game on her ability to endure long rallies, sending the shuttle continually back against more powerful players. These tactics served her well, but put a lot of pressure on her knees and ankles. She suffered from various long term injuries during her playing career. Hadia Mohamed Hosny Elsaid Mohamed Tawfik El Said (born 30 July 1988) is an Egyptian badminton player playing in the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympics. She won the women's singles title at the 2010 African Championships, and emerged as the women's doubles gold medalist at the 2019 African Games. Personal life She is currently working as a teaching assistant at the faculty of pharmacy of the British University in Egypt. Sara Lisa Sofia Persson (born 23 September 1980) is a Swedish badminton player. Persson won the women's singles title at the Swedish National Championships in 2002 representing Täby Badmintonförening (now Göteborgs BK), and repeating it consecutively from 2005-2008. Neli Boteva ( bg, Нели Ботева, née Nedyalkova) (born 9 May 1974) is a badminton player from Bulgaria who participated in four Olympiads in women's doubles. She first competed in the 1992 SummerOlympics as Nelly Nedyalkova in the women's doubles event with Bulgarian partner Emilia Dimitrova, née Emmy Vlaar. They were defeated by Bożena Bąk & Wioletta Wilk from Poland in the round of 32 with 16-17, 8-15. Zhou Mi (badminton)
Zhou Mi (; born 18 February 1979) is a Chinese badminton player. During much of her career she represented the People's Republic of China, but since 2007 she has represented Hong Kong which has a sports program and teams independent from those of the mainland. In 2010, she received a 2-year ban, for failing a drugs test. Career Since 1998 Zhou has won more than twenty international singles titles on the world circuit and has achieved number one world rankings at various times. Tine Baun (née Rasmussen; born 21 July 1979) is a Danish former badminton player. Most notably, she won the All England Open Badminton Championships women's singles title three times in 2008, 2010, and 2013 – the last of these being her final tournament before retirement. Badminton At The 2012 Summer Olympics
The badminton tournaments at the 2012 Olympic Games in London took place between 28 July and 5 August at Wembley Arena. A total of 172 athletes competed in five events: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. The women's doubles tournament was marred by several disqualifications during the group stage for unethical play. All of the gold medals were won by players from China.
