John Petts (artist)
Ronald John Petts (10 January 1914 – 26 August 1991) was a British artist. Petts was born in London, but is considered a Welsh artist and is known for his engravings and stained glass works. Biography Petts was born in the Hornsey area of north London but, despite a childhood illness limiting his education, an interest in art and Saturday morning lessons at the Hornsey School of Art led to him becoming a full-time student there in 1930. A British Institution scholarship allowed Petts to study at the Royal Academy Schools for two years from 1933, during which time he also took evening classes in printing at the Central School of Arts and Crafts. In 1935 Petts married the artist Brenda Chamberlain in London and the couple set up home near Llanllechid in north Wales, where they held two joint exhibitions of their art and supported themselves by creating and selling greeting cards and doing some part-time teaching in Bangor. John Petts (footballer)
John William Frederick James Petts (born 2 October 1938) is an English former professional football player and manager. Career Petts, who played as a wing half, joined Arsenal in 1954, and made 32 appearances for them in the Football League. He later played for Reading and Bristol Rovers, before playing non-league football with Bath City. Petts later had a spell as manager of Northampton Town between 1977 and 1978. Judith Petts
Judith Irene Petts CBE (born 7 January 1954) is a British academic and the Vice-Chancellor of Plymouth University. Academic career She graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA in geography in 1975. She was a research fellow in the Institute for Planning Studies, University of Nottingham and then joined Loughborough University where she completed her PhD in 1996 and became Director of the Centre for Hazard and Risk Management. In 1998, she became Professor of Environmental Risk Management and later Head of the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Birmingham, serving as Pro-Vice-Chancellor 2007–2010. In 2010, she joined the University of Southampton as the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences and Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise. Kusha Petts
Marjory Helen Petts Miller (1921–2003) was a British artist and writer who, although born in London, spent the majority of her career in Wales. Biography Petts was born in London and studied fine art at the University of Reading between 1939 and 1944 and then taught in Chesterfield for a year before returning to London to teach at St Paul's Girls' School until 1947. That year she married the artist John Petts. The couple eventually divorced in 1984 during which time, living in Wales, they had three children together and Kusha worked as Petts' studio assistant on a number of mosaic and stained glass compositions. Petts also produced her own paintings, often portraits, still lifes and landscapes. Petts exhibited these works in a number of group exhibitions including at commercial galleries in Cardiff, at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in 1956, at the National Museum of Wales in both 1956 and 1957 and with the Society for Education in Art. Paul Andrew Petts (born 27 September 1961) is an English former professional footballer who played as a winger. Career Petts began his career with Bristol Rovers, making 13 appearances in the Football League for them between 1978 and 1980. Valerie Petts
Valerie Petts is a British watercolourist and book illustrator based in Oxford, England. Petts is a member of the Oxford Art Society and undertakes some teaching. She has produced paintings for the monthly ''Limited Edition'' colour magazine of ''The Oxford Times''. She has exhibited in England, Japan, and South Africa. As well as watercolours and oil paintings, Petts also produces limited edition prints. Petts has produced many Oxford views, including of Port Meadow. Pett
Pett is a village and Civil parishes in England, civil parish in the Rother District, Rother district of East Sussex, England. The village is located north-east of Hastings on the edge of Pett Level, the one-time marshes stretching along the coast of Rye Bay. The road through the village leads down to the second village in the parish: Pett Level, the coastal part of which is known as ''Cliff End''. Here there is a beach and, as the name suggests, the Weald sandstone cliffs reach their easternmost point.
