Annick Petrus
Annick Danièle Petrus (born 5 January 1961) is a French Saint Martinois educator and politician. She has served as the Senator for the Collectivity of Saint Martin since October 2020 as a member of the Union for Democracy and The Republicans (LR) parties. Petrus is the first woman to represent Saint Martin's lone seat in the French Senate. Additionally, she has served in the Territorial Council of Saint Martin since 2017. Biography Petrus was born on 5 January 1961 in Guadeloupe to a Saint Martinois mother and a Guadeloupean father. She is a native of Guadeloupe, but divided her time between that island and Saint Martin as a child. She received a master's degree in educational sciences from the University of the French West Indies and Guiana. Petrus has two children, a son and a daughter. Brent Petrus (March 30, 1975 – March 20, 2022) was an American football quarterback who played one season with the New York Dragons of the Arena Football League (AFL). He played college football and basketball at the University of Cincinnati. Professional career Petrus signed with the New York Dragons of the AFL on March 7, 2001. He was released by the Dragons on April 16, 2001. He signed with the Dragons on January 21, 2002, and was placed on injured reserve on May 2, 2002. Petrus was waived by the Dragons on January 26, 2003. He signed with the Dragons on March 26, 2003. Jacques Fred Petrus (; February 22, 1948 – June 8, 1987) was a West Indian-born businessman and a pioneer of post-disco music. He spent much of his career in Italy and the United States. Early life Born in Guadeloupe in the French West Indies, Petrus worked as a diesel-engine mechanic on a cargo ship aged 15. He subsequently travelled to Paris following his interest for R&B and soul music, where he worked as a DJ at different clubs from 1968, including the jet-set nightclub Club Saint-Hilaire. In the early 1970s, he moved to Milan, Italy, and continued DJing at various clubs including Good Mood. In Bologna he met music student Mauro Malavasi, who became his working partner and main songwriter and producer, and together they formed a disco production company called Goody Music Productions (GMP), established a recording studio in Bologna, and created the Goody Music Records label. Lars Erik Petrus (born 4 November 1960 in Luleå in Sweden) is an accomplished speedcuber. In 1982, he became the national champion of Sweden, and went on to finish fourth overall at the first official Rubik's Cube World Championships held in Budapest, Hungary. He later published his method, known as the Petrus system, on the Internet. It became a fairly popular method among intermediate and upper-level speedcubers, although its more recent use has diminished considerably due to the increased predominance of methods such as ZZ, Roux, and CFOP. Petrus won the 3x3x3 Fewest Moves category at the 2005 World Championships held in November 2005 at Lake Buena Vista, Florida, USA claiming the US$500 prize.
