Petros Avgerinos
Petros Avgerinos (, 18th century - 19th century) was a Greek politician Biography He was born in Pyrgos, Elis and was related to the Avgerinos family. He was mayor of Pyrgos a number of times between 1868 and 1889. During his term as mayor, he created the public market, the Apollo Theatre, and organised work on the Pyrgos-Katakolo railway line. He also ran a philharmonic school. Pyrgos ( el, Πύργος, meaning "tower") is a city in the northwestern Peloponnese, Greece, capital of the regional unit of Elis and the seat of the Municipality of Pyrgos. The city is located in the middle of a plain, from the Ionian Sea. The river Alfeios flows into sea about south of Pyrgos. Katakolo
Katakolo ( el, Κατάκολο) is a seaside town in the municipality of Pyrgos in western Elis, Greece. It is situated on a headland overlooking the Ionian Sea and separating the Gulf of Kyparissia from the rest of the Ionian. It is west of Pyrgos. The small village of Agios Andreas, which in ancient times was the natural harbour for Ancient Olympia, lies northwest of Katakolo. History In the Middle Ages, Katakolo was the site of the fortress of Pontikon or Pontikokastro (Ποντικόν, Ποντικόκαστρο), which the Frankish rulers of the Principality of Achaea called ''Beauvoir'' or ''Belveder''. Ioannis Krestenitis (younger)
Ioannis Krestenitis (Greek: Ιωάννης Κρεστενίτης, died 1915) was a Greece, Greek politician and a mayor of Pyrgos, Ilia, Pyrgos. He came from the most famous Krestenitis (other), Krestenitis family. He studied at the National University and attended with professor Spyridon Lambros, Lambros. He became mayor of Pyrgos in 1883 and was elected representative of Elis (regional unit), Elis in the Greek parliament in 1887, 1889, 1906 and 1910. He denied in 1906 from the spot of the naval ministry with the explanation he did not participated with the succession of the throne. In 1891, he entered to the political spot and elected mayor of Pyrgos until 1899. In 1910, he was elected an attorney after the revolution. He died in 1915. He was the brother of Georgios Krestenitis.
