Petra Larsson
Anna Petra Sofia Johansson (née Larsson; born 30 September 1988) is a Swedish football midfielder. She previously played for Linköping FC and during the 2012–13 winter season she represented Australian W-League team Melbourne Victory. Club career In November 2016 Johansson announced that she was returning to Eskilstuna United after a year of football retirement, during which she changed her surname from Larsson and gave birth to daughter Norah. International career Johansson made her senior international debut on 19 August 2009, in Sweden's 1–0 friendly defeat by Norway in Enköping. She was named in national coach Thomas Dennerby's squad for UEFA Women's Euro 2009, as cover for Nilla Fischer who was carrying a heel injury. The Norway women's national football team is controlled by the Football Association of Norway. The team is former European, World and Olympic champions and thus one of the most successful national teams. The team has had less success since the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup. Damallsvenskan Players
The Damallsvenskan, Swedish for ''ladies all-Swedish'' and also known as OBOS Damallsvenskan for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Sweden. It is also referred to as the women's Allsvenskan. The term Allsvenskan alone is used to reference the men's division. The division consists of a league of 14 teams. From 2013, the Damallsvenskan began operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the Elitettan. The two lowest placed teams are relegated to the Elitettan, and the two highest placed teams from the Elitettan are promoted in their place. Starting with the 2022 season the league has been expanded from 12 to 14 teams. The first Swedish women's national championship was played in 1973. The 2016 UEFA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament was an international football competition organised by UEFA to determine the final women's national team from Europe to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics women's football tournament in Brazil. The tournament was played between 2 and 9 March 2016 in the Netherlands. Four teams participated in the tournament: Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. Pia Sundhage
Pia Mariane Sundhage (, born 13 February 1960) is a Swedish football manager and former professional player. She is the head coach of the Brazil women's national team. As a player, Sundhage played most of her career as a forward and retired as the top scorer for the Sweden national team, but she also had stints playing as a midfielder and a sweeper. Sundhage was the head coach of the United States women's national team from 2008 to 2012 and led the team to two Olympic gold medals and a silver medal at the World Cup. Her success led to her winning the 2012 FIFA World Coach of the Year. Sundhage later became the head coach of her native Sweden women's national football team from 2012 to 2017, winning an Olympic silver medal in 2016. Nilla Fischer
Åsa Nilla Maria Fischer (born 2 August 1984) is a Swedish footballer for Linköpings. She played in the Swedish national team between 2001 and 2022. She was previously the captain of FC Rosengård. Career Fischer won most of her caps for Sweden as a defensive midfielder after her debut versus Norway in January 2001. Approaching a century of appearances, she was converted to a centre back by coach Pia Sundhage in 2013. The change in position coincided with an upturn in goalscoring form for Fischer, who scored three times for hosts Sweden at UEFA Women's Euro 2013. The 2009 UEFA Women's Championship, or just Women's Euro 2009, was played in Finland between 23 August and 10 September 2009. The host was appointed on 11 July 2006, in a UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Berlin and the Finnish proposal won over the Dutch proposal.
