Petra Döll
Petra Döll is a German hydrologist whose work focuses on modeling global water resources. She is a professor of hydrology and researcher at the Institute of Physical Geography, Goethe University Frankfurt. Early life and education Petra Döll was born and raised in Hof, Bavaria, Germany, later moving to Erlangen for university. She applied for a Fulbright exchange program between the University of Erlangen–Nuremberg and the University of Colorado Boulder (US) for her fourth year. There, Döll connected her background in geology to groundwater and hydrology. Döll earned a Masters of Science from University of Colorado Boulder. Döll was interested in sustainability and found that her new studies in hydrology gave her the ability to think about geology and water with a social-ecological perspective. Hof, Bavaria
Hof () is a town on the banks of the Saale in the northeastern corner of the Germany, German state of Bavaria, in the Franconian region, at the Czech Republic, Czech border and the forested Fichtelgebirge and Frankenwald upland regions. The town has 47,296 inhabitants, the surrounding district an additional 95,000. The town of Hof is enclosed by, but does not belong to the Bavarian Hof (district), district of Hof; it is nonetheless the district's administrative seat. The town's most important work of art, the Hofer altar, dates from about 1465 and is exhibited in the Alte Pinakothek in Munich today. The Heidenreich organ in the parish church of St. Michaelis, completed in 1834, is considered one of Bavaria's finest.
