Petr Starec
Petr Starec (; born 5 December 1951) is a Czech figure skating coach and former competitor. As a single skater, he became a two-time Czechoslovak national bronze medalist and competed at the 1969 European Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, finishing 18th. Starec later teamed up with Rijana Hartmanová to compete in pair skating. They won the 1974 national title and placed 13th at the 1974 European Championships in Zagreb. Starec is the head of the Department of Sports at Masaryk University in Brno. He has coached Michal Březina (from 2004 to 2012), Eliška Březinová (until 2012), Alexandra Kunová, and Petr Kotlařík Petr Kotlařík (born 1 November 1998) is a Czech figure skater. Michal Březina
Michal Březina (; born 30 March 1990) is a retired Czech figure skater. He is the 2013 European bronze medalist, 2011 Skate America champion, 2009 World Junior silver medalist and four-time Czech national champion. He also won the 2014-15 ISU Challenger Series. Michal represented the Czech Republic at the 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022 Winter Olympics. Personal life Michal Březina was born on 30 March 1990 in Brno. He is the son of Edita Březinová and Rudolf Březina, a figure skating coach. His younger sister, Eliška Březinová, competes in ladies' single skating. He intends to study sports at university and eventually become a skating coach. Březina was the best man at the wedding of Anna Cappellini and Ondřej Hotárek in the summer of 2015. The Slovak Figure Skating Championships are the figure skating national championships held annually to crown the national champions of Slovakia. International Skating Union
The International Skating Union (ISU) is the international governing body for competitive ice skating disciplines, including figure skating, synchronized skating, speed skating, and short track speed skating. It was founded in Scheveningen, Netherlands, in July 1892, making it one of the oldest international sport federations. The ISU was formed to establish standardized international rules and regulations for the skating disciplines it governs, and to organize international competitions in these disciplines. Blue Swords
Blue Swords (german: Pokal der Blauen Schwerter) is an international figure skating competition organized by the Deutsche Eislauf-Union. It is usually held in Chemnitz, Saxony, Germany. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Champions of the event win the "Blue Swords Trophy". History Blue Swords began as a senior international competition in East Germany, and was held annually between 1961 and 1998. In 1985, it became a junior-level event. Since 1997, it is chosen in some years by the International Skating Union to be part of the ISU Junior Grand Prix circuit. These are the only years when the event is still held.
