Petersham Park
Petersham Park is an urban park located in the Inner West of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The park is characterised by well established avenues of Brush Box and Camphor Laurel trees. Facilities in Petersham Park include a cricket oval, a rotunda, a children's playground, and the Fanny Durack Aquatic Centre. The oval is used for cricket in the summer months and baseball in winter. There are weekly visits to the park by the Inner West Council initiative called the Magic Yellow Bus, which offers free activities for kids 6 and under. Inner West Council is a local government area located in the inner western region of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia. WestConnex
WestConnex is a predominantly underground motorway scheme in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. As of 2022, it is partially completed and partially still under construction. A joint project of the New South Wales and Australian governments, the motorway scheme is creating around of new tunnels between Homebush and Kingsgrove, passing underneath Inner West suburbs including Haberfield and St Peters. The first of the tunnels, the M4 East, opened to traffic in July 2019. The second of the tunnels, the M8 Motorway, opened to traffic a year later in July 2020. The rest of the tunnels are expected to open to traffic in 2023. The forecast cost of WestConnex has grown from 10 billion to over $16.8 billion. Fanny Durack
Sarah Frances "Fanny" Durack (27 October 1889 – 20 March 1956), also known by her married name Fanny Gately, was an Australian competition swimmer. From 1910 until 1918 she was the world's greatest female swimmer across all distances from freestyle sprints to the mile marathon. Life and career Durack learned to swim in Sydney's Coogee Baths using breaststroke, the only style for which there was a championship for women at that time. In 1906 she won her first title, and over the next few years, dominated the Australian swimming scene. In the 1910-11 swimming season, Mina Wylie beat Durack in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 100- and 220-yard freestyle at the Australian Swimming Championships at Rose Bay. Dudley Seddon
Cecil Dudley Seddon (3 July 1902 – 18 April 1978) was an Australian sportsman who represented New South Wales in both cricket and rugby league. Rugby league Seddon played rugby league for the Newtown in the New South Wales Rugby League from 1920 to 1926. He was one of the New South Wales rugby league team's three-quarters in a representative match against Queensland on 5 June 1921. Cricket Seddon made his first-class cricket debut in a 1926/27 Sheffield Shield match against Queensland. A middle order batsman, Seddon made just six and four. He had to wait a year to make his next first-class appearance, which came against Tasmania in 1927/28. Seddon again didn't have an impact, making 10 and 22 in his two innings. Anzac Memorial
The Anzac Memorial is a heritage-listed war memorial, museum and monument located in Hyde Park South near Liverpool Street in the CBD of Sydney, Australia. The Art Deco monument was designed by C. William Wentworth
William Charles Wentworth (August 179020 March 1872) was an Australian pastoralist, explorer, newspaper editor, lawyer, politician and author, who became one of the wealthiest and most powerful figures of early colonial New South Wales.
