It was originally developed by an expatriate American, Frederick (Fred) Augustus Bolles Peters in 1907, using his mother's recipe. Peters Cartridge Company
The Peters Cartridge Company was a company located along the Little Miami River in Kings Mills, Ohio, which specialized in gunpowder and ammunition production. Founded in 1887 by Gershom Moore Peters, the company supplied military ammunition to various countries during both world wars. Following its demise in 1944, the site was repurposed by Columbia Records and later Seagram, before being abandoned in 1968 and falling into disrepair. Its historic buildings, built in 1916, were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. A brewery and apartment complex themed to the defunct company was constructed on site in 2020, in which many structures were restored and the company's history was placed on display for guests. Edition Peters is a classical music publisher founded in Leipzig, Germany in 1800. History The company came into being on 1 December 1800 when the Viennese composer Franz Anton Hoffmeister (1754–1812) and the local organist Ambrosius Kühnel (1770–1813) opened a concern in Leipzig known as the "Bureau de Musique." Along with publishing, the new firm included an engraving and printing works and a retail shop for selling printed music and instruments. Among its earliest publications were collections of chamber music works by Haydn and Mozart. When Hoffmeister departed for Vienna in 1805, the firm had already issued several works by the then new Viennese composer, Ludwig van Beethoven (Opp. 19-22; 39-42). Peters Bay ( da, Peters Bugt) is a bay of the Greenland Sea in King Christian X Land, Greenland. Administratively it belongs to the NE Greenland National Park area. History The bay was first surveyed by Carl Koldewey during the 1869–70 Second German North Polar Expedition. It was named "Peters Bay" (german: Peters Bai) after German zoologist and explorer Wilhelm Peters (1815 – 1883), who wrote one of the zoological texts for Koldewey's expedition report. In 1932 a Norwegian hunting station was built on the western shore of the bay, about northeast of the mouth of Ardencaple Fjord. It was named Jonsbu ''(Jónsbú)'' after Norwegian trapper John Schjelderup Giæver (1901–1970). The station was destroyed by a vessel of the Greenland Patrol in World War II.
