Peter Van Hemert
Peter van Hemert (29 May 1734 - 20 May 1810) was a Danish merchant and shipowner. His family's trading house, Joost van Hemert & S'nner, existed until 1805. Early life and education Hemert was born in Copenhagen on 20 May 1734, the son of merchant and shipowner Joost van Hemert (1696–1775) and Petronelle Elisabeth Behagen, née Mestecker (1703–78). His mother was the widow of Anthony Behagen (1687–1727)), a wine merchant from Hamburg, and had brought a son, Gysbert Behagen, into the marriage. Peter van Hemert was educated in his father's company. Career In 1765, Hemert was granted citizenship as a merchant. Peter van Hemert and his half-brother Gysbert Behagen were at this point made partners in their father's company, whose name was at the same event changed to Joost van Hemert & Sønner (Joost van Hemert & Sons. Cornelius Høyer
Cornelius Høyer (26 February 1771 – 2 June 1804) was a Danish painter, mainly known for his work in miniatures. Within his special trade, he was among the virtuosos of his day and won an international reputation. Early life and education Høyer was born at the Kronborg Rifle Factory. From an early age he attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, studying under Carl Gustaf Pilo and Louis Tocqué, and later continued his education in Paris where Jean-Baptiste Masse taught him miniature painting. A visit to Italy in 1767 introduced him to Rosalba Carriera and he learned new skills, including the special technique of painting on ivory. Career In 1769, Høyer was appointed Miniature Painter to the Danish Court and the following year he became a member of the Academy. Fuglevad
Fuglevad is a neighbourhood and locality on the Mølleåen river in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. Fuglevad Watermill, located approximately one kilometer downstream from Lyndby Nordre Mølle, has a history that dates back to the 15th century but the current buildings are from the 1870s. Fuglevad Windmill, a smock mill from 1832, is now located inside the grounds of the Frilandsmuseet open-air museu which opened at the site in 1901. Assistens Cemetery (Danish: Assistens Kirkegård) in Copenhagen, Denmark, is the burial site of many Danish notables as well as an important greenspace in the Nørrebro district. Inaugurated in 1760, it was originally a burial site for the poor laid out to relieve the crowded graveyards inside the walled city, but during the Golden Age in the first half of the 19th century it became fashionable and many leading figures of the epoch, such as Hans Christian Andersen, Søren Kierkegaard, Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg, and Christen Købke are all buried here. Reformed Church (Danish: ''Reformert Kirke'') in Gothersgade, opposite Rosenborg Castle, is a church building used by the reformed congregations in Copenhagen, Denmark. Gotthilf Just Fabritius (1 September 1703 – 7 May 1766) was a Danish merchant. History Just Fabritius was born in Copenhagen to German immigrants. His father was a wine merchant. He established his own trading house and had close ties to the state, both under the reign of Christian VI and Frederik V. He participated with great success in the expeditions to China and India which were planned and supported by Bernstorff on behalf of the state. He was one of the founders of Kurantbanken in 1736 and for a while served as its director. He became part of the board of directors of the Danish Africa Company in 1755. He took part in the preparations for the expedition led by Verrayon to the Levant with the aim of opening a new, lucrative market. The expedition was a failure but Fabritius avoided losses. Vodroffsvej is a street in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It follows the western shore of The Lakes Copenahgen, St. Jørgen's Lake, linking Gammel Kongevej in the south with Rosenørns Allé in the north.
