Peter Zeitlinger
Peter Zeitlinger A.S.C. (born 6 June 1960, in Prague) is a Czechoslovakian-born Austrian cinematographer, who has worked with the director Werner Herzog since 1995. Their film ''Encounters at the End of the World'' was nominated for the Academy Award 2009. Peter Zeitlinger studied from 1980 – 1987 at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. He was influenced by Michael Snow and Peter Kubelka followed by Vittorio Storaro, Sven Nykvist and Vilmos Zsigmond. Zeitlinger's films have received considerable critical acclaim and achieved popularity on the art house circuit. He is represented by the Gersh Agency and is a member of the German Film Academy. Peter Zeitlinger is Professor of Cinematography at the University of Television and Film Munich. He lives in Premariacco, Friuli, Italy. The Romy television award in honor of the German-born and naturalized French actress Romy Schneider, born in Vienna, was created in 1990 by the Austrian newspaper ''Kurier'' – or rather their movie reviewer Rudolf John, who also designed the 30.5 cm gilded trophy. Cave Of Forgotten Dreams
''Cave of Forgotten Dreams'' is a 2010 3D documentary film by Werner Herzog about the Chauvet Cave in Southern France, which contains some of the oldest human-painted images yet discovered. Some of them were crafted around 32,000 years ago. The film premiered at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival and consists of images from inside the cave as well as interviews with various scientists and historians. The film also includes footage of the nearby Pont d'Arc natural bridge. Production Herzog's interest in the Chauvet cave was prompted by Judith Thurman's ''New Yorker'' article "First Impressions". Thurman is listed as one of the co-producers of the film. The cave is carefully preserved and the general public is not allowed to enter. ''My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done'' is a 2009 crime drama film directed by Werner Herzog, and written by Herzog and Herbert Golder. The film stars Michael Shannon as Brad McCullam, a mentally unstable man who kills his own mother (played by Grace Zabriskie) after becoming obsessed with a play he is starring in. ''Grizzly Man'' (2005) is an American documentary film by German director Werner Herzog. It chronicles the life and death of bear enthusiast Timothy Treadwell and the death of his girlfriend Amie Huguenard at Katmai National Park, Alaska. The film includes some of Treadwell's own footage of his interactions with brown bears before 2003, and of interviews with people who knew or were involved with Treadwell, in addition to those of professionals who deal with wild bears. Treadwell and his girlfriend, Amie Huguenard were both from New York (state), New York. He had been studying bears for several summers at the park. The film explores the story of Juliane Koepcke, a German Peruvian woman who was the sole survivor of Peruvian flight LANSA Flight 508 following its mid-air disintegration after a lightning strike in 1971.
