Peter Matthew Wright (born December 3, 1972) is an American former competition swimmer who represented the United States at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad". Freestyle is a category of swimming competition, defined by the rules of the International Swimming Federation (FINA), in which competitors are subject to a few limited restrictions on their swimming stroke.
