Peter Wolf (born March 7, 1946) is an American musician best known as the lead vocalist of the J. Geils Band from 1967 to 1983 and as a solo artist. Early life and education Peter Wolf was born Peter Walter Blankfield on March 7, 1946 in The Bronx, New York City, New York, New York (state), New York. He attended the High School of Music & Art, located in west Harlem, Manhattan, near the Apollo Theater. He often attended the Apollo, seeing many of the famous soul, rhythm & blues, and gospel artists who influenced him. He moved to Boston, Massachusetts, to attend the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts on scholarship, where he studied painting. His first roommate was film director David Lynch. Peter Wolf (producer)
Peter F. Wolf (born August 25, 1952) is an Austrian composer, producer, songwriter and arranger. In 2002, he was awarded the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art, 1st class (''Österreichische Ehrenkreuz für Wissenschaft und Kunst''). Wolf is married to fashion model and songwriter Lea Wolf-Millesi. Career Wolf studied classical piano at the Conservatory of Music in Vienna. At the age of 16, he won the European Jazz Festival as a solo pianist. Twice he won the Deutscher Schallplattenpreis, a German award, for his work with André Heller and Erika Pluhar. Wolf moved to America in his early twenties. He worked with bassist Neal Starkey and guitarist Bill Hatcher in Atlanta, Georgia, and with drummer Steve Sample Jr. and keyboardist, guitarist, and vocalist Ray Reach in Birmingham, Alabama. The Austria men's national basketball team (german: Österreichische Basketballnationalmannschaft) represents Austria in international basketball competition. The team is controlled and organised by Basketball Austria. Austria has competed at the EuroBasket six times throughout their history. Their best performance overall came at the EuroBasket 1951, 1951 tournament. However, the team is still seeking qualification to their first appearance on to the global stage at the FIBA World Cup.
