Peter Wisgerhof
Peter Wisgerhof (; born 19 November 1979) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a centre-back for Vitesse, NEC and Twente. Career Club Wisgerhof made his debut in professional football, being part of the Vitesse squad in the 1999–2000 season. He was allowed to sign on loan with NEC for half a year. He then signed permanently with NEC, then played nine seasons for the club until making a switch in 2009 to Twente, who had sold defender Rob Wielaert to Ajax. Wisgerhof signed a contract with Twente for three-and-a-half years. Here he has quickly played himself into the squad. In his second season, 2009–10, Twente became Eredivisie champions. In the summer of 2010, he became captain, after Blaise Nkufo left Twente for Seattle Sounders. At the start of the 2010–11 season, he and Twente won the Johan Cruyff Shield after defeating Ajax 1–0. Wageningen () is a municipality and a historic city in the central Netherlands, in the province of Gelderland. It is famous for Wageningen University, which specialises in life sciences. The UEFA Europa League (abbreviated as UEL, or sometimes, UEFA EL), formerly the UEFA Cup, is an annual football club competition organised since 1971 by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for eligible European football clubs. KNVB Cup
The KNVB Beker (; en, KNVB Cup), branded as the TOTO KNVB Beker for sponsorship reasons, is a competition in the Netherlands organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) since 1898. It was based on the format of the English FA Cup. Outside the Netherlands, it is often referred to as the Dutch Cup. The tournament consists of all teams from the top four tiers of Dutch league football (Eredivisie, Eerste Divisie, Tweede Divisie and Derde Divisie), as well as the 24 semi-finalists (or replacements) of the six KNVB District Cups. Joris Mathijsen
Joris Mathijsen (born 5 April 1980) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. He is the director of football at Willem II. Club career Mathijsen started his football career at SV VOAB in Goirle after he visited a training session of a friend as a young boy. At the age of nine, he left this club and came through the youth system of Willem II. He was promoted to the first team for the 1998–99 season, making his debut on 27 February 1999 in a match against FC Utrecht. After six seasons at Willem II, he was sold by manager Co Adriaanse to AZ. However, he endured a harder time breaking into the first team with AZ and his case was not helped by injuries. After finishing as runners-up in the Eredivisie in 2006, Mathijsen opted to transfer to German Bundesliga side Hamburger SV for €6 million, where he teamed up with fellow Dutchmen Rafael van der Vaart and Nigel de Jong.
