Peter Wichers
Peter Wichers is a Swedish guitarist, songwriter and record producer best known as one of the founding members of melodic death metal band Soilwork. From 1995 until late 2005, when he announced his departure from the band, and again from 2008 until 2012 he was the lead guitarist and songwriter, especially on their '' Stabbing the Drama'' album. Rejoining 18 September 2008, it was announced that Wichers had rejoined Soilwork in his previous role. Having joined the band again, Wichers accompanied Soilwork on their European tour in late 2008 and the American tour in early 2009. Once the tour was finished, the band wrote and recorded ''The Panic Broadcast'' album. On 25 June 2012 it was announced that Wichers left the band for the second time, due to creative differences. John Bush (musician)
John Bush (born August 24, 1963) is an American heavy metal singer and songwriter. He came to prominence in the 1980s as the lead singer and lyricist of Armored Saint, a heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California. In 1992, he joined thrash metal band Anthrax, with whom he remained until 2005 and briefly rejoined in 2009–2010. Bush has also been active with the reformed Armored Saint intermittently from 1999 to the present. Eduardo Rivadavia of AllMusic praised Bush's "remarkable voice" while authors Howie Abrams and Sacha Jenkins ranked him as the eighth-best vocalist in the genre. ''Figure Number Five'' is the fifth full-length album released by the Swedish melodic death metal band Soilwork. The record was released on 22 April 2003 through Nuclear Blast label. On this release, the band introduces more elements of alternative metal into their melodic death metal style. This would be the last album with Henry Ranta on drums before he left the band after its release. A few different editions of this album existed upon release. The normal release with eleven tracks, as well as a limited edition release with a second CD including their 1997 demo ''In Dreams We Fall into the Eternal Lake'' plus two songs from the ''Steelbath Suicide'' demo session. ''Natural Born Chaos'' is the fourth full-length studio album released by the Swedish melodic death metal band Soilwork. According to Nielsen Soundscan, the album sold 2.267 copies in the US as of 2002. The album comes in a limited vinyl version and features two lps with this album and '' Figure Number Five'' in white and the other black. The album was voted the number one album by BW and BK magazine in 2002. A video was also made for "As We Speak". This is the first album with current keyboardist Sven Karlsson. This is also the first release from the band to include elements, such as alternative metal, a style that would become more evident in the band's following release, '' Figure Number Five''. It was released on 19 February 2001, and was reissued on 15 October 2013 in the U.S. and 18 October 2013 in Europe. This is the last album to feature Carlos Del Olmo Holmberg on keyboards. According to Nielsen Soundscan, the album sold 6.326 copies in the US as of 2002. This is the first album where Björn "Speed" Strid started utilizing clean vocals mixed with his traditional screaming style and the first Soilwork release to be on Nuclear Blast. ''The Chainheart Machine'' is the second studio album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Soilwork. It is the first Soilwork release to feature guitarist Ola Frenning and drummer Henry Ranta. There is an instrumental hidden track on "Room No 99" as the song ends at 5:00 followed by silence until the 7:00 minute mark where the hidden track begins. The hidden track transitions perfectly into the opening title track. ''Steelbath Suicide'' is the debut studio album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Soilwork. It was released on 20 May 1998 through Listenable and Century Media labels. It is the only album to feature guitarist Ludvig Svartz and drummer Jimmy Persson. The original release has two Japanese bonus tracks, "Disintegrated Skies" and "Burn", a Deep Purple cover. Century Media re-released the album in 2000 with different cover art and a live track of "Sadistic Lullabye". This album is a firm example of the band's immediate roots in Swedish melodic death metal. The song "Demon in Veins", is a revised version of "Wake Up Call" off their demo; the lyrics changed are in the chorus. ''Praises to the War Machine'' is the debut solo release/album by heavy metal vocalist Warrel Dane from Nevermore, released on April 25, 2008. The album was produced by Peter Wichers, who was tapped by Dane to work on the album while Wichers was still a member of Soilwork. After leaving that band in 2007, Wichers co-wrote the album with Dane and played on eight of its tracks. Soilwork drummer Dirk Verbeuren and former Himsa guitarist Matt Wicklund also played on the album. Nevermore guitarist Jeff Loomis and James Murphy make guest appearances.
