Peter Edward Lionel Russell
Sir Peter Edward Lionel Russell (24 October 1913 – 22 June 2006) was a British historian whose main area of study was Spain and Portugal in the medieval period. Early life and military Born in Christchurch, New Zealand, on 24 October 1913, Russell moved to the UK at the age of 12 with his mother and brothers, he received his schooling at Cheltenham College and studied French, Spanish and Portuguese as an undergraduate at Queen's College, Oxford, graduating with a First in 1935. His doctoral research focused on the Plantagenet involvement in the Iberian Peninsula and was guided by Maurice Powicke and V. H. Galbraith but was incomplete by the outbreak of war in 1939. During the Spanish Civil War he undertook assignments in Spain for British Intelligence, this resulted in his arrest and expulsion in 1938. Peter Wheeler (1934 – 18 May 2010) was an English television and radio broadcaster and actor. Biography He grew up in the north west of England, was educated at William Hulme's Grammar School, and first appeared as a boy actor in radio dramas. He began presenting news reports and conducting interviews for Granada Television in the early 1960s, before working for BBC TV on ''Crossword On Two'', a quiz show, and ''Call My Bluff'' in 1967. At around the same time, he also hosted the Granada children's quiz ''Junior Criss Cross Quiz''. Peter Wheeler (rugby Union)
Peter John Wheeler, CBE (born 26 November 1948) is a former international rugby union player who played hooker and was Chief Executive of Leicester Tigers. Early life Wheeler attended Brockley County Grammar School and went on to play for Old Brockleians Rugby Club and Kent for three seasons. Playing career Wheeler was considered a tough and technically proficient hooker and was integral to Leicester's innovative and expansive style of play. Wheeler captained Leicester Tigers to three consecutive wins in the John Player Cup from 1979 to 1981 and played 349 games for the club from 1969 to 1985. He was an early advocate of league rugby in the 1980s. He made his England debut on 1 February 1975 against France, and his last appearance on 17 March 1984 against Wales, gaining 41 caps in between, including 5 as captain. Peter Wheeler (TVR)
Peter Robert Wheeler (29 February 1944 – 11 June 2009) was a chemical engineer from Sheffield, Yorkshire, UK, who owned the Blackpool-based TVR sports car company for 23 years. Wheeler made his fortune supplying specialist equipment to the North Sea oil industry. After owning a TVR, he ended up buying the company in 1981. Wheeler sold TVR to Nikolai Smolenski in 2004 for around £15 million. Despite his background in chemistry, Peter Wheeler also contributed to the design of TVRs. Under Wheeler's ownership, TVR moved from cars with Triumph and Ford engines to using the Rover V8, and later the Speed Eight and Speed Six designed for TVR by Al Melling. The cars produced under his control were typically stunning to look at, with incredible performance. Pete Wheeler (October 19, 1922 in Albany, Georgia – April 21, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia) was the commissioner of the Georgia Department of Veterans Service from 1954 until his death in 2015, making him the longest serving state commissioner in the history of the United States. Commissioner Wheeler also rose to the rank of Brigadier General in the Georgia National Guard. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and served in the United States Army during World War II.
