Peter Temple-Morris, Baron Temple-Morris
Peter Temple-Morris, Baron Temple-Morris (12 February 1938 – 1 May 2018) was a British politician. He was elected as the Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) for Leominster (UK Parliament constituency), Leominster in 1974; he stood down in 2001 after changing parties. He sat in the House of Lords as a Labour Party (UK), Labour peer. He died on 1 May 2018 aged 80. Early life Born in Cardiff, Temple-Morris attended Llandaff Cathedral School and Hillstone School (Malvern College's Preparatory school (UK), preparatory school) in Malvern, then Malvern College. He went to St Catharine's College, Cambridge, gaining a BA in Law in 1958. He became a barrister, like his father, from 1962 at the Inner Temple, practising until 1989. ''The Right Honourable'' ( abbreviation: ''Rt Hon.'' or variations) is an honorific style traditionally applied to certain persons and collective bodies in the United Kingdom, the former British Empire and the Commonwealth of Nations. The term is predominantly used today as a style associated with the holding of certain senior public offices in the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, and to a lesser extent, Australia. ''Right'' in this context is an adverb meaning 'very' or 'fully'. Grammatically, ''The Right Honourable'' is an adjectival phrase which gives information about a person. As such, it is not considered correct to apply it in direct address, nor to use it on its own as a title in place of a name; but rather it is used in the third person along with a name or noun to be modified.
