Peter Tasker is a former assistant bishop in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney, Bishop of Georges River. Tasker was educated at Moore Theological College and ordained in 1964. Assistant Bishops In The Diocese Of Sydney
The assistant bishops of Sydney are the assistant bishops in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney, Australia. They each assist the Archbishop of Sydney by maintaining delegated episcopal oversight over a particular geographical area. Prior to the formation of the current "regions" arrangement in around 1967, the archbishop was assisted by a number of suffragan bishops with no particular geographical area (nor expectation to succeed to the diocesan see). The first regional see created was that of Parramatta, whose first assistant bishop was consecrated in 1967. In 1969, the first Bishop of Wollongong was consecrated. The Southern (''aka'' South Sydney) and North regions followed in 1972 and 1975 respectively. In 1993, the fifth regional see, Georges River, was created. Effective from 1 July 2021, the regions were changed to plan for Sydney's future growth in the southwestern areas. Peter Lin (bishop)
Peter Robert Lin (born 1967) is an Australian Anglican bishop. Since May 2015, he has been Bishop of South Western Sydney (known as "Bishop of Georges River" between 2015 and 2021), an assistant bishop in the Diocese of Sydney. He was consecrated a bishop on 30 May 2015 by Glenn Davies, the Archbishop of Sydney. Lin is the second bishop in the Anglican Church of Australia to be of Chinese descent; the first was Ivan Lee. Education Lin finished degrees at Sydney and Macquarie Universities and graduated from Moore College. Malcolm Richards
Malcolm George Richards (born 1959/1960) is an Australian bishop in the Anglican Church of Australia. He has served as an assistant bishop in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney, as the Bishop for International Relations, since July 2019. Richards grew up in Canberra, and originally trained and worked as an optometrist. He and his wife pledged to become missionaries, and from 1988 to 1994 they moved to what was then Zaire with their children to carry out youth work. He lived in Goma on the Rwandan border during the Rwandan genocide. On returning to Australia, Richards trained at Moore Theological College, then worked in parish ministry in the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn, where he planted a church. Ray Smith (bishop)
Raymond George Smith (born 7 March 1936) is a retired Australian Anglican bishop. He served as an assistant bishop in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney, as the first Bishop of South Western Sydney (then called the "Bishop of Liverpool") from 1 November 1993 to 31 December 2001. Smith was educated at the Australian College of Theology and ordained in 1959. He served as priest in the Diocese of Armidale from 1959 to 1986, ministering to the parishes of Barraba, Moree, Ashford and Uralla and during that time was collated as archdeacon within the diocese. He was then the Director of Extension Ministries at Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry in Ambridge, Pennsylvania in the United States until 1990 when he returned to Australia to be the Archdeacon of South Canberra and Rector of Wanniassa the Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn, his last positions before being ordained to the episcopate.
