Peter Stevens (car Designer)
Professor Peter Stevens (born 1943) is a British car designer. Stevens is one of the UK's best-known vehicle designers. He is currently a design consultant, teacher and lecturer. Stevens trained at Central St Martin's School of Art and then, the Royal College of Art. He began his career in the 1970s as a designer at Ford, then Ogle design. He also began his long career as a tutor of Vehicle Design students at the RCA at this time . He spent five years as chief designer at Lotus Cars in the 1980s, where he developed the Esprit revision and designed the Lotus Elan (M100). He then designed the Jaguar XJR-15 and later became Chief Designer at McLaren Cars. He was responsible for the design of the McLaren F1, launched in 1993. After a spell as chief designer at Lamborghini, he returned to the UK, undertaking consultancy for Prodrive, BMW, Williams and Toyota. Peter Stevens (RAF Officer)
Peter Stevens (born Georg Franz Hein; 15 February 1919 – 16 July 1979) was a German Jew who flew bombers in the British Royal Air Force in World War II. As an enemy alien living in London in the late 1930s, Hein assumed the identity of a dead schoolfriend in order to join the RAF at the outbreak of hostilities. Shot down on a bombing raid, he was captured by the Germans and held a prisoner of war. Aware that if his true identity was discovered he would be regarded as a traitor he made repeated escape attempts, but was always recaptured. Liberated from the POW camp at the end of the war, he finally obtained British citizenship. In 1947 he transferred to MI6's East German section, retaining his RAF commission. After leaving MI6 he emigrated to Canada in 1952, embarking on a business career. Peter John Stevens (born 1 June 1995) is a Slovenian swimmer. He won the title of youth world champion in the 50-metre breaststroke in 2013. In 2016, he won silver in the same discipline seconds at the 50-metre breaststroke on the European Aquatic Championships in London, with time of 27.09 seconds. This was his first medal from a senior competition. In 2016, he won the silver medal at the 50 m breaststroke on the short-course World Swimming Championships, breaking the Slovenian national record at 25.85. Stevens is son of an English father and Slovenian mother. His family lives in Medvode. he is a student at the University of Tennessee. Peter Fayssoux Stevens (June 22, 1830 – January 9, 1910) was an American soldier, educator and clergyman. He was an officer in the Confederate States Army and a bishop in the Reformed Episcopal Church who also served as 4th superintendent of the South Carolina Military Academy (now The Citadel). Early years Born near Tallahassee, Florida, but raised in Pendleton, South Carolina, he was First Honor Graduate in the Class of 1849 at the Citadel Academy in Charleston, one of the two schools that made up the South Carolina Military Academy (now The Citadel). In 1852, he was appointed a professor of mathematics at the Arsenal Academy in Columbia, the second SCMA campus. He returned to the Citadel Academy as a professor of belles lettres and French the next year; promoted to the rank of major in the South Carolina Militia, he became head of the department of engineering and astronomy.
