Peter Simon (presenter)
Peter Simon is an English shopping television presenter and former children's television personality. Career Simon is perhaps most famous for presenting the ''Double Dare'' (''Going Live!'') and '' Run the Risk'' (''Live & Kicking'') segments of the popular BBC1 Saturday morning children's shows. ''Run the Risk'', presented by Simon and Shane Richie, was later to become a separate television programme in its own right. Simon also worked on the children's TV show ''The Friday Zone''. In 1997 he interviewed the Spice Girls and Boyzone. Simon made infrequent television appearances throughout the 2000s, including as celebrity client on Channel 4's '' The Salon'' (2003) and as a guest on ITV Play's '' The Mint'' (2006). In the early 2000s, Simon toured Butlins holiday parks with a live stage version of ''Run the Risk''. Going Live!
''Going Live!'' was a British children's television series that aired on BBC1 from 26 September 1987 to 17 April 1993. It was presented by Phillip Schofield and Sarah Greene. Other presenters included Trevor and Simon, Annabel Giles, Phillip Hodson, Emma Forbes, Nick Ball, James Hickish and Mark Chase. In 1988, when the second series started, Greene was hurt in a helicopter crash with her then boyfriend, who subsequently became her husband, Mike Smith. Guest presenters stood in for her including T'Pau's Carol Decker. Similarly, in 1992–93 during the final series, Schofield was starring in ''Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat'' and was unable to present the show. A third presenter took his place. STV (TV Network)
STV is a Scottish free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the STV Group. It is made up of the Central Scotland and Northern Scotland Channel 3 public broadcaster licences, formerly known as Scottish Television (now legally STV Central Ltd) and Grampian Television (now legally STV North Ltd) respectively. The STV brand refers to the on-air name used by Scottish Television for much of its history - notably in the 1970s and early 1980s. This brand remained in conversational use amongst the local public afterwards. The modern STV brand was adopted on Tuesday 30 May 2006 replacing both franchises' previous identities. Ronald McDonald is a clown character used as the primary mascot of the McDonald's fast-food restaurant chain. Comic relief is the inclusion of a humorous character, scene, or witty dialogue in an otherwise serious work, often to relieve tension. ''Get Your Own Back'' was a British children's television game show created by Brian Marshall. Each episode staged a contest between teams of children – attempting to score as many points as possible – and their respective adults – attempting to make tasks as difficult as possible for their child contestants – playing a variety of games. The winning child earns a right to get revenge on the adult by ejecting them into a tank of gunge; adult contestants in the show are somewhat embarrassing, for a variety of reasons, to their child counterparts. Airing on BBC One's children's television block, it ran from 26 September 1991 to 1 January 2004, and was hosted by Dave Benson Phillips.
