Peter Rudy Wallace (born April 13, 1954) is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Party who served as Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives from 1994 to 1996. Early life and education Peter Rudy Wallace was born on April 13, 1954 to Martha Rudy and John Powell Wallace. He has four brothers, two younger and two older. His father was also a Democrat and an executive in the egg and poultry industry who founded the Wallace Hatchery and Wallace Chicks and was the first Chairman of the American Egg Board. The Florida Senate is the upper house of the Florida Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Florida, the Florida House of Representatives being the lower house. The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) is the state education agency of Florida. It governs public education and manages funding and testing for local educational agencies (school boards). It is headquartered in the Turlington Building (named for former education commissioner Ralph Turlington) in Tallahassee.
