Peter Powers
Peter Powers is a British television personality and hypnotist. He is well known in Australia for his appearances on the '' Footy Show''. Career Powers has made several TV shows; '' The Power of One'', which is filmed in Australia, and ''Street Hypnosis'' which was filmed in the UK. He made five one-hour TV specials for UK's Channel 5, entitled ''The Naughty, Naughty Hypnoshow'' and recorded two one-hour TV specials for Network 9 in Australia in which celebrities were hypnotised. In 2008, he appeared in a one-hour special ("Housemates Hypnotized") on ''Big Brother Australia 2008'', where he hypnotized many of the willing housemates. His TV show in the Netherlands, ''Peter Powers' Payback'', a 10-part series, was broadcast in early 2009. ''The Footy Show'' was an Australian sports variety television program covering professional rugby league in Australia. It was shown on the Nine Network and aired for 25 seasons. For the final season in 2018, the show was hosted by journalist Erin Molan, and co-hosted by Ryan Girdler and Brad Fittler, with regular contributions from Beau Ryan and Darryl Brohman. It was previously hosted by former rugby league footballer and commentator Paul Vautin for 23 years, with former player and commentator Peter Sterling also an early host from the first 12 years. Having aired on Thursday nights since 1994, the program was largely entertainment-based, with some football-related content included, such as previews of the weekend's fixtures and interviews with players. 'The Power of One' was an Australian television series which ran for two seasons between 2006 and 2008 and featured hypnotist Peter Powers hypnotising "subjects" and forcing them to perform amusing and often embarrassing acts. Content The hypnotism in the show usually aims for comedy rather than exhibiting the hypnotist's skill. Examples of the acts performed on the show include: * hypnotising someone to think they are driving an expensive car, when in fact they are driving a cheap one, or a bumper car at a fair. * exploiting a personal weakness, such as arachnophobia or shyness. * sexually centered acts, such as convincing a man that each of the holes in a pool table is a woman that he has to satisfy. * making a person do something embarrassing, such as achieving instant orgasm, in response to a pre-set trigger. ''Big Brother Australia 2008'' or ''Big Brother 8'' was the eighth season of the Australian reality television show '' Big Brother'' and was the final season to air on Network Ten. The eighth season launched on 28 April 2008. A total 20 housemates competed in the show.
