Peder Oluf Pedersen (19 June 1874 – 30 August 1941) was a Danish engineer and physicist. He is notable for his work on electrotechnology and his cooperation with Valdemar Poulsen on the developmental work on Wire recorders, which he called a telegraphone, and the arc converter known as the Poulsen Arc Transmitter. Pedersen became a professor of telegraphy, telephony and radio in 1912.Biography

Harding William "Pete" Peterson (October 17, 1929 – April 16, 2019) was an American professional baseball player and general manager. He played in Major League Baseball as a catcher from 1955 to 1959. During his playing days, he was more commonly known as Hardy Peterson. Biography A graduate of Rutgers University, where he was a full-season starter on the third-place College World Series team in 1950 and second-team College All American that same year, Peterson spent the first three-plus decades of his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates as a minor and MLB player, minor league manager, farm system director and general manager. Douglas Brian "Pete" Peterson (born June 26, 1935) is an American politician and diplomat. He served as a United States Air Force pilot during the Vietnam War and spent over six years as a prisoner of the North Vietnamese army after his plane was shot down. He returned to Hanoi when he became the first List of ambassadors of the United States to Vietnam, United States Ambassador to Vietnam in 1997. He was an ambassador until July 2001, after which he devoted himself to philanthropic work. Early life and education Peterson grew up in Milton, Iowa and attended college at the University of Tampa. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served in the Vietnam War, where his F-4 Phantom II fighter was shot down on September 10, 1966. Pete Peterson (born Svend Aage Pedersen; September 30, 1903 - February 24, 1962) was an American motion picture special effects and stop-motion animation pioneer, best remembered for his work with Willis H. O'Brien on '' Mighty Joe Young'' (1949), '' The Black Scorpion'' (1957) and ''The Giant Behemoth'' (1959). Biography Pete Peterson, who changed to this name in 1945, worked as a grip at RKO studios in Hollywood in the 1940s and was assigned to work on '' Mighty Joe Young'' (1949) lighting the miniature sets where technical creator Willis H. O'Brien and his first technician Ray Harryhausen were creating the stop-motion animation of the title character.
