Peter Marquis
Peter Alan John Marquis (13 March 1932 – 4 March 2005) was an Australian rules footballer who played in Tasmania and Victoria during the 1950s and 1960s. He was inducted into the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame in 2005. Marquis began his senior career in 1950 with Devonport in the North West Football Union (NWFU). The next season, he won the club's Best and Fairest award, as well as playing for both the NWFU and Tasmania in representative matches. In 1953, Peter Marquis began his six-year auspicious career with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL), and played as a full back when the Demons overcame Collingwood in the close 1955 and 1956 Grand Final matches. He also collected premiership honours when his team beat Essendon in 1957. Later he returned to Tasmania and played with North Hobart in the Tasmanian Football League (TFL). Derby ( ) is a small Australian town located in the northeast of Tasmania. History The greater Derby area was inhabited by the indigenous North East nation for over 10,000 years prior to the British colonisation of Tasmania. The area was surveyed in 1855, but was not settled until 1874, when George Renison Bell discovered tin in the area. The North Hobart Football Club, nicknamed ''The Demons'', is an Australian rules football club which plays in the Tasmanian State League. The club returned to the state league in 2018 after its position was effectively filled by a new club, the Hobart City Football Club after the 2013 season. The club (i.e. North Hobart) was part of the Tasmanian Football League from the early 1900s through to 2001, where the club joined Southern Football League. In 2009, the club was invited into the second reincarnation of the statewide league where it remained until 2013. In 2014, the North Hobart Football Club Inc. changed from an incorporated body to a company limited with 100% ownership of the Hobart City Football Club, with the Hobart City Demons now the trading name of North Hobart Football Club Ltd. Hugh Greenwood
Hugh Greenwood (born 6 March 1992) is a professional Australian rules footballer who plays for North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) and a former basketball player with the University of New Mexico. Greenwood was a promising under-16 footballer, but opted to attempt a career in basketball in 2008, moving to the United States in 2011 to play for the University of New Mexico. Greenwood returned to Australia in 2015 and joined the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League, but abruptly announced his retirement from basketball to sign with the Adelaide Football Club as a category B rookie in September 2015. North Melbourne Football Club
The North Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos, is a professional Australian rules football club. The men's team competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), and the women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW). The Kangaroos also field a reserves men's team in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Founded in the suburb of North Melbourne in 1869 and based at the Arden Street Oval, it is the 4th oldest club in the competition and one of the oldest surviving clubs in the world. Its original home at Arden Street continues to serve as its headquarters, training facilities and home ground for its women's side. The Tasmanian State League (TSL), colloquially known as the "Tasmanian Football League (TFL)" (formerly known as the "Tasmanian Australian National Football League (TANFL)" and several other short-term names) is the highest ranked Australian rules football league in Tasmania, Australia.
