Peter Manning
Peter Manning FRSA (born 17 July 1956) is a British conductor and violinist. Biography Manning was born in Manchester on 17 July 1956. His conducting career includes work with the Royal Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, the Edsberg Chamber Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Odense Symphony Orchestra, Musica Vitae and the Soloists of The Royal Opera House. He is currently (2015) Concertmaster of The Royal Opera House and Artistic Director of Musica Vitae, Sweden, The Soloists of The Royal Opera House and guest Conductor Dallas Opera Texas USA. He is also Artistic Director of Manning Camerata, the classical group for the 21st century which he started in 2005 to create innovative events that are centred on music and invigorate other disciplines. Peter John Kay (born 2 July 1973) is an English actor, comedy writer and stand-up comedian. He has written, produced and acted in several television and film projects, and has written three books. Born and brought up in Bolton, Kay studied media performance at the University of Salford. He began working part-time as a stand-up comedian, winning the North West Comedian of the Year award. In 1997 he won Channel 4's ''So You Think You're Funny'' contest and the following year was nominated for a Perrier Award for his show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. With his public profile raised, in 2000 he co-wrote and starred in '' That Peter Kay Thing'' for Channel 4. This resulted in a spin-off sitcom, '' Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights'', which ran for two series from 2001 to 2002 and in turn generated another spin-off, ''Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere'', in 2004. Peter John Manning (born 17 May 1946) is a former Australian rules footballer who was highly successful in the West Australian National Football League (WANFL) playing for the Swan Districts Football Club. Beginning his career in 1944, he was unlucky in missing the dominant period of Swan Districts but did play in the 1965 Grand Final that the Swans lost to East Fremantle. A skillful and hard running wingman or centreman, Manning played the majority of his career in these positions.
