Peter Lindgren (musician)
Peter Lindgren (born March 6, 1973) is a Swedish musician and songwriter. He is best known as the former guitarist of Swedish progressive death metal band Opeth. Musical career Lindgren joined Opeth in 1991 as bassist for a show, but ended up switched to guitars. As explained in "The Making of Deliverance and Damnation" on Opeth's live DVD ''Lamentations'', lead-playing duties were based on ease of Mikael Åkerfeldt's vocal delivery and which of the two might want a given solo more. If Åkerfeldt was having trouble with a solo, he would hand it over to Lindgren, and vice versa. In March 2004, Peter and Mikael Åkerfeldt were both ranked #42 out of the 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Guitarists of all time by Guitar World. Opeth is a Swedish progressive metal/rock band from Stockholm, formed in 1990 by lead vocalist David Isberg. The group has been through several personnel changes, including the replacement of every original member; notably Isberg in 1992. Boss is a manufacturer of Effects unit, effects pedals for electric guitar and bass guitar. It is a division of the Roland Corporation, a Japanese manufacturer that specializes in musical equipment and accessories. Laney Amplification does not sell directly to the public, instead dealing with distributors and retailers. History Laney Amplification was founded in 1967 by Lyndon Laney while playing bass guitar in Band of Joy. The Gibson Les Paul is a solid body electric guitar that was first sold by the Gibson Guitar Corporation in 1952. The guitar was designed by factory manager John Huis and his team with input from and endorsement by guitarist Les Paul. Its typical design features a solid mahogany body with a carved maple top and a single cutaway, a mahogany set-in neck with a rosewood fretboard, two pickups with independent volume and tone controls, and a stoptail bridge, although variants exist.
