Peter Lamb (composer)
Peter Lamb (9 June 1925 – 11 July 1978) was a Scottish professional footballer who played as a right back. Career Lamb played for St Anthony's, before signing to Celtic for one season from 1946 to 1947, and then played for Alloa Athletic from 1947 to 1949. Personal life and death Lamb was born in New Monkland Monklands (''Bad nam Manach'' in Scottish Gaelic) was, between 1975 and 1996, one of nineteen local government districts in the Strathclyde region of Scotland. New Monkland
Monklands (''Bad nam Manach'' in Scottish Gaelic) was, between 1975 and 1996, one of nineteen local government districts in the Strathclyde region of Scotland. The district was formed by the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 from: *The burghs of Coatbridge and Airdrie *Most of the Lanarkshire landward Ninth District *The electoral district of Shottskirk from the Lanarkshire landward Seventh District The district administrative headquarters were based at Coatbridge Municipal Buildings in Coatbridge, the largest conurbation. Alloa
Alloa (Received Pronunciation ; educated Scottish pronunciation /ˈaloʊa/; gd, Alamhagh, possibly meaning "rock plain") is a town in Clackmannanshire in the Central Lowlands of Scotland. It is on the north bank of the Forth at the spot where some say it ceases to be the River Forth and becomes the Firth of Forth. Alloa is south of the Ochil Hills, east of Stirling and north of Falkirk; by water Alloa is from Granton. The town, formerly a burgh of barony, is the administrative centre of Clackmannanshire Council. Historically, the economy relied heavily on trade between Glasgow and mainland Europe through its port. This became increasingly uncompetitive and the port stopped operating in 1970.
