''Nebula Science Fiction'' was the first Scottish science fiction magazine. It was published from 1952 to 1959, and was edited by Peter Hamilton, a young Scot who was able to take advantage of spare capacity at his parents' printing company, Crownpoint, to launch the magazine. Because Hamilton could only print ''Nebula'' when Crownpoint had no other work, the schedule was initially erratic. In 1955 he moved the printing to a Dublin-based firm, and the schedule became a little more regular, with a steady monthly run beginning in 1958 that lasted into the following year. ''Nebula''s circulation was international, with only a quarter of the sales in the United Kingdom; this led to disaster when South Africa and Australia imposed import controls on foreign periodicals at the end of the 1950s. Peter Maurice Hamilton (17 October 1956 – 6 July 2019) was an Australian rules football Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by k ...er who played for Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Hamilton, despite appearing in eight VFL seasons, could only amass 52 games and spent most of his times playing reserves football. The closest he came to a full season was when he played 13 senior games in 1979. In the same year, he was a Tasmanian representative at the Perth State of Origin Carnival, having played at North West Football Union club Ulverstone early in his career. Air Canada Flight 621
Air Canada Flight 621 was an Air Canada Douglas DC-8, registered as CF-TIW, that crashed on July 5, 1970, while attempting to land at Toronto Pearson International Airport. It was flying on a Montreal–Toronto–Los Angeles route. It crashed in Toronto Gore Township, Ontario, Toronto Gore Township, now part of Brampton. All 100 passengers and 9 crew on board were killed, and at the time it was Canada's Trans-Canada Air Lines Flight 831, second-deadliest aviation accident. Aircraft The aircraft involved was a Douglas DC-8 60 series, powered by four Pratt & Whitney JT3D engines and delivered new to Air Canada just three months prior to the accident. At the time of the incident the aircraft had accumulated only 453 hours of flight time. The aircraft was registered CF-TIW and was the 526th DC-8 built at the Long Beach assembly plant.
