Peter Gordon (English Footballer)
Peter John Gordon was an English association footballer. He played as both outside forward and inside forward in the Football League for Norwich City F.C., Norwich City, Watford F.C., Watford, Exeter City F.C., Exeter City and Newport County A.F.C., Newport County. After retiring as a player, he coached at several Football League clubs. Career Born in Northampton, Gordon started his career at Northampton amateurs, before turning professional with Norwich City F.C., Norwich City in December 1949. He spent much of his career at Norwich, who at the time were competing in the Football League Football League Third Division South, Third Division South. After 160 league appearances and 34 goals, Gordon joined Watford F.C., Watford for the start of the 1958–59 season. 1981 UK Athletics Championships
The 1981 UK Athletics Championships was the national championship in outdoor track and field for the United Kingdom held at Antrim Stadium, Antrim. It was the first time that a national track and field championship was held in Northern Ireland. It was the fifth edition of the competition limited to British athletes only, launched as an alternative to the AAA Championships, which was open to foreign competitors. However, due to the fact that the calibre of national competition remained greater at the AAA event, the UK Championships this year were not considered the principal national championship event by some statisticians, such as the National Union of Track Statisticians (NUTS). Peter Gordon (born 1963) is a New Zealand chef, who has had restaurants in London, Auckland, New York, Istanbul and Wellington. Early life Gordon was born in Whanganui in the coastal Manawatū. His father is Bruce Gordon. Gordon is of Ngāti Kahungunu and Ngāi Tahu descent. Education After moving to Melbourne in 1981, completing a four-year cookery apprenticeship and working as a chef in various restaurants, his spirit of adventure and culinary curiosity led him to travel through Asia for a year from Indonesia through to India. This experience was to become a major influence on his culinary style, which is now called fusion. Career Gordon set up the kitchen of the original "Sugar Club" restaurant in Wellington in 1986. After two years running the outlet, he moved to London. Peter Gordon (born June 20, 1951, New York City) is an American saxophonist, clarinetist, pianist and experimental composer, whose influences include jazz, disco, funk, rock, opera, classical and world music. He has released several albums and composed scores for film and theater, and he has also toured and re-interpreted the music of Arthur Russell, on whose compositions he played, as well as that of Robert Ashley. Early life and education Gordon was born in New York City, and grew up in Virginia, Munich, and Los Angeles. He began piano lessons at age 7 and learned the clarinet in early childhood. He started to play the saxophone, which would become his main instrument, at age 14. John Bowie Gordon (23 July 1921 – 17 March 1991), known as Peter Gordon, was a New Zealand politician of the National Party. Biography Gordon was born in Stratford in 1921 to Stratford doctors William and Doris Gordon. Like his two brothers, he attended St Andrew's College, Christchurch, where he was a boarder from 1935 to 1937. He then attended Lincoln College and the Nuffield School in farming in Crookston, Minnesota. In World War II, he was a flight lieutenant and pilot for the Royal New Zealand Air Force. After the war, he was a farmer and joined many organisations, where he had leading roles with the West Otago A & P Association (president), Farmers' Mutual Insurance (director, 1952–1960), and Shaw, Savill & Company (member of the New Zealand Advisory Board, 1956–1960).
