Peter Francis (footballer)
Peter Francis (born 16 January 1958) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with four VFL clubs during the 1980s. Victorian country recruit Peter Francis joined Carlton in 1977 and made his senior debut two seasons later in Round 1. 1979. He played in their thrilling five point Grand Final win against Collingwood that year in what would be the only premiership of his ten season career. Halfway through the 1981 season he was traded to Fitzroy for fellow wingman Frank Marchesani. He played 40 games with Fitzroy before moving on to Richmond and then finished his career with a stint at Essendon. Heathcote is a town in central Victoria, Australia, situated on the Northern Highway 110 kilometres north of Melbourne and 40 kilometres south-east of Bendigo via the McIvor Highway. Heathcote's local government area is the City of Greater Bendigo and it is part of the federal electorate of Bendigo and the state electorate of Euroa. At the , Heathcote had a population of 2,793. It has an alliance with the Hawthorn Football Club, which plays in the Australian Football League. Frank Marchesani
Frank Marchesani (born 2 February 1960) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy and Carlton in the Victorian Football League (VFL). After having a promising start in his first season at Fitzroy, he sought clearance to be transferred to Carlton. The move was said to be motivated by financial gain, however Marchesani has since denied this claim. In his first season, he failed to live up to expectation – this was only compounded by the fact that his move to Carlton included the popular Peter Francis being traded in return.
