Peter Burgoyne
Peter Gabriel Burgoyne (born 29 January 1978) is a former Australian rules footballer with Port Adelaide in the Australian Football League (AFL). He played primarily in midfield and on the half back flank. Early life Burgoyne is of Indigenous Australian descent with tribal ancestry that can be traced to the Kokatha ( Nunga) in South Australia. He grew up in the Northern Territory and began playing football with St Mary's in the Northern Territory Football League (NTFL). He is the elder brother of former Hawthorn and Port Adelaide player, Shaun Burgoyne and is the son of former Port Adelaide player Peter Burgoyne, Snr. St Mary's Football Club (NTFL)
The St Marys Football Club, nicknamed, Saints, formed in 1952, is an Australian rules football club, affiliated to the Northern Territory Football League. It is famous for its record of success, with 33 NTFL premierships in 52 Grand Finals and 67 out of 70 possible final appearances. To the end of season 2021/22, St Marys have played 1297 games for 935 Wins 351 Losses and 11 Draws. Nicknamed the Saints, St Marys play their home games at Football Park in Marrara. St Marys has produced many talented players, particularly Indigenous Australian players for leagues such as the Australian Football League. Many players from the Tiwi Bombers Football Club also played for the club. 1997 AFL Season
The 1997 AFL season was the 101st season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season ran from 27 March until 27 September, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top eight clubs. Before the season, the Port Adelaide Football Club (SANFL) was admitted to the league, increasing the South Australian membership to two clubs. Foundation club Fitzroy, which had gone into administration in 1996, merged with the Brisbane Bears to form a new Queensland-based club known as the Brisbane Lions. Brendon Lade
Brendon Lade (born 10 July 1976) is a former Australian rules footballer with the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is currently a senior assistant coach with the Western Bulldogs Football Club. AFL career Early career (1992–1999) Lade was born on Kangaroo Island and grew up playing football for the local Western Districts Football Club, where his father coached the A grade side.
