Peter Bjorn And John
Peter Bjorn and John are a Swedish indie pop/rock band formed in Stockholm in 1999, named after the first names of the band's members: Peter Morén (vocals, guitar and harmonica), Björn Yttling (bass guitar, keyboards and vocals) and John Eriksson, known in his solo work as Hortlax Cobra (drums, percussion and vocals). Yttling also worked as producer for the band's first four albums. Their 2006 single "Young Folks", which featured Victoria Bergsman, formerly of the Concretes, was a top 20 hit in the UK Singles Chart, and was featured in the football video game ''FIFA 08'', the baseball video game ''MLB 2K13'', the singing game ''Lips'', as the school project in the film ''Bandslam'', as part of the soundtrack of sitcom '' How I Met Your Mother'', the opening track in the pilot episode of ''Gossip Girl'', the theme tune to British Television adverts for Homebase store, and in the Air New Zealand "Safety Safari" surfing video. John Eriksson (musician)
John Eriksson (born 8 January 1974, Hortlax (Piteå), Sweden) is a Swedish musician and composer best known as a founding member of Peter Bjorn and John. Career He was born in 1974 and raised in Hortlax (Piteå), Sweden. In 1994, he founded the percussion quartet Peaux, for which he was also a musician and composer. From 1995 to 1999, he was a musician in the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, performing in concerts and recordings with Esa-Pekka Salonen, Myung-Whun Chung, Herbert Blomstedt and Evgeny Svetlanov. He was also in a percussion/trumpet duo with Tora Thorslund, and in 1998 he was a marimba soloist during the Stockholm International Percussion Event. From 1999 to 2008, he was a musician, arranger and composer in the Kroumata Percussion Ensemble. Björn Yttling
Björn Daniel Arne Yttling (born 16 October 1974 in Umeå, Sweden) is a Swedish music producer, songwriter, and musician. His production and songwriting credits include Lykke Li, Chrissie Hynde, Primal Scream, Franz Ferdinand, Sahara Hotnights, Anna Ternheim. Yttling is the bassist of the indie rock trio Peter Bjorn and John. He is also a co-founder of the label and artist collective INGRID and a member of the band LIV. The Concretes are a Swedish indie pop band from Stockholm, composed of eight members. History The Concretes began with Victoria Bergsman, Maria Eriksson, and Lisa Milberg.
