Peter Adjey
Peter Adjey (born June 20, 1999) is a Canadian professional football long snapper for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). University career Adjey played U Sports football for the Queen's Gaels from 2018 to 2021. Professional career Edmonton Elks Adjey was drafted in the third round, 28th overall, by the Edmonton Elks in the 2022 CFL Draft and signed with the team on May 11, 2022. He won the long snapper job following training camp and made his professional debut on June 11, 2022, against the BC Lions. He played in all 18 regular season games in 2022 where he had three special teams tackles and one fumble recovery. Long Snapper
In American football, the long snapper (or deep snapper) is a center on special teams whose duty is to snap the football over a longer distance, typically around 15 yards during punts, and 7–8 yards during field goals and extra point attempts. Overview During field goal and point after touchdown attempts, the snap is received by the holder, typically 7–8 yards away. During punts, the snap is delivered to the punter from 13–15 yards away. Following a punt snap, the snapper often executes a blocking assignment and then must cover the kick by running downfield and attempting to stop the opposing team's punt returner from advancing the ball in the opposite direction. If the punt goes uncaught, it is the snapper's responsibility to make sure the ball does not enter the end zone or bounce backward resulting in loss of yards. The 2025 CFL national draft is a selection of national players by Canadian Football League teams that is scheduled to take place in the spring of 2025. The 2023 Edmonton Elks season was the 65th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 74th overall. After an 0–9 start to the season, the Elks were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention following their week 18 loss to the Toronto Argonauts. The team's 2023 season was the second under the second tenure of head coach and general manager, Chris Jones. 2022 CFL Draft
The 2022 CFL National Draft was a selection of National players by Canadian Football League (CFL) teams that took place on May 3, 2022, at 8:00 pm ET and was broadcast on TSN and RDS. 74 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA.
