William Peter Adams, (17 April 1936 – 28 September 2018), commonly known as Peter Adams, was a Canadian politician from Ontario. He was a Liberal Party of Canada, Liberal member of Canada's House of Commons of Canada, House of Commons from 1993 to 2006 representing the riding of Peterborough (electoral district), Peterborough. Previously, Adams represented the provincial riding of Peterborough (provincial electoral district), Peterborough in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1987 to 1990, sitting as a member of the Ontario Liberal Party. Peter Adams (actor)
Peter John Adams (18 May 1938 – 13 December 1999) was a New Zealand-born Australian actor, best remembered for his performances in Australian television. Born in Taumarunui, New Zealand, Adams later emigrated to Australia. He died of cancer in Melbourne in 1999 at the age of 61. Career Television work Adams appeared in the Australian soap opera ''Number 96'' as Andy Marshall in 1974-75 and had a five-week stint in medical soap opera ''The Young Doctors'' as comedian, Clarrie Baker in 1977. Adams' defining role came in 1977 when he was cast as a leading character, Detective Jeff Johnson, in the police procedural series ''Cop Shop''. His character "JJ" became a hit with audiences, winning Adams several Logies. In 1980 he won Best Lead Actor in a Series and in 1981, the Silver Logie for Most Popular Actor. Peter Adams (born 1944) is a retired diplomat of New Zealand. In 1977, after researching and writing ''Fatal Necessity: British Intervention in New Zealand, 1830–1847'' while at Oxford University on a Rhodes scholarship, Adams worked in the New Zealand Agency for International Development. He was then employed in the headquarters of the United Nations in New York City, in Washington, D.C., and in Suva (Fiji). In 1985 he was deputy director of the South Pacific Bureau of Economic Cooperation (SPEC). From 1998 to 2001 he was ambassador in Beijing. From 2001 until his retirement in 2009 he was executive director of the New Zealand Agency for International Development. Xero (band)
Xero (also styled as Zero or Xiro) were an Australian punk rock and new wave band formed in 1978 in Brisbane, Queensland. They were fronted by mainstay member, Irena Luckus on lead vocals, keyboards and guitar before disbanding in 1983. History Zero were formed in Brisbane in 1977 with the initial line-up of Peter Adams on guitar and vocals; Chris Anderson on guitar and vocals; Jude Clarkin on bongos; Barbara Hart on saxophone and flute; John Hunt on bass guitar; Irena Luckus on vocals, keyboard and guitar; and Debbie Penny on drums. Peter Bradley Adams is a folk-pop Americana singer-songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama. History Before embarking on his solo career in 2005, Adams was a founding member of the folk pop duo eastmountainsouth. Within a year of forming eastmountainsouth in 2001 with Kat Maslich Bode, they were signed by Robbie Robertson to DreamWorks Records. Adams co-produced their 2003 debut album with Mitchell Froom, and toured extensively for the next year and a half with acts including Lucinda Williams, Tracy Chapman, Joan Baez and Nelly Furtado. Peter Seitz Adams (born August 27, 1950, Los Angeles) is an American artist. His body of work focuses on landscapes and seascapes created en plein air in oil or pastel as well as enigmatic figure and still-life paintings. He is noted for his colorful, high-key palette and broad brushwork. Adams has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums, including throughout California, the Western United States, and on the East Coast in Philadelphia, Vermont, and New York.
