Peter Moore (1753–1828) was an English civil servant of the East India Company and politician. Life Born at Sedbergh, then in Yorkshire, on 12 February 1753, Peter Moore was the fifth son of Edward Moore, LL.B., vicar of Over, Cheshire, and Mary his wife. His father dying when he was quite young, he was educated by his eldest brother, Edward Moore, a barrister who had influence with Lord Holland and the Whig party. An appointment in the East India Company's service was found for him. Moore returned to England a rich man, supplied material to Edmund Burke and Richard Brinsley Sheridan for their attack on Warren Hastings. He became a sort of whip for the radical section of the Whig party, while his manor-house at Hadley, Middlesex served as a rendezvous, with Sheridan a frequent visitor. Peter Weddick Moore
Peter Weddick Moore (June 24, 1859 - April 15, 1934) was a North Carolina educator and the first president of Elizabeth City State University. Educated by Sampson County public schools and Shaw University, Moore later became an assistant principal at the Normal School at Plymouth, until he built and became principal of what is now known as the Elizabeth City State University. Moore fought strongly against the segregation of education and society as well as for equality among whites and blacks. Throughout his life, Moore contributed greatly to the achievements of the North Carolina Teachers' Association and held every role within the organization. Members of the Iraqi insurgency began taking foreign hostages in Iraq beginning in April 2004. Since then, in a dramatic instance of Islamist kidnapping they have taken captive more than 200 foreigners and thousands of Iraqis; among them, dozens of hostages were killed and others rescued or freed. In 2004, executions of captives were often filmed, and many were beheaded. However, the number of the recorded killings decreased significantly. Many hostages remain missing with no clue as to their whereabouts. Peter Moore (29 August 1939 – 20 December 2009) was a British town crier. He worked for the London Tourist Board, the Mayor of London, the cities of London and Westminster. Life Moore was born in Walsall, Staffordshire (now West Midlands), England, to a "father unknown". He was raised in a nearby Barnardo's Home. He left Walsall for London, and became an actor. He was cast in the original 1960 stage production of Lionel Bart's ''Oliver!'', as the undertaker Mr. Sowerberry. Peter Howard Moore (born 19 September 1946) is a British serial killer who managed cinemas in Bagillt, Holyhead, Kinmel Bay and Denbigh in North Wales at the time of his arrest. He murdered four men in 1995. Due to his attire when committing sexual attacks, he was also called the "man in black". Peter Clement Moore (4 June 1924 – 16 June 2000) was an Anglican priest who was the Dean of St Albans from 1973 to 1993. Education and career Moore was educated at Cheltenham College and Christ Church, Oxford.
