Pete International Airport
Pete International Airport is an American neo-psychedelia band from Portland, Oregon, formed in 1997 by Peter Holmström of The Dandy Warhols. Original line-up includes Jsun Adams (The Upsidedown) on vocals, Collin Hegna (The Brian Jonestown Massacre) on bass guitar, Jason "El Firme Plucky" Anchondo (The Warlocks, Spindrift) on drums and Paulie Pulvirenti, also on drums. In 2010 they released their debut self-titled album. Music videos were produced for three of the album's tracks, including "21 Days", which premiered on Spinner.com on 7 September 2010. Pete International Airport's second album, ''Safer With The Wolves…'', was called a "meticulously crafted psyche rock journey into the dark heart of electronica". ''Pete International Airport'' is the self-titled debut studio album by American neo-psychedelia band Pete International Airport. It was released on 15 September 2010 by record label Custom Made Music. Background On the making of the album, Holmström states: I started coming up with some of the songs back in '97; I just never found the right place for them ..Some of them didn't work with the band's views and other ones, I started another band to try to do the songs and that didn't work out. So I just ended up doing them on my own, which is something I needed to do as I was growing as a musician and a songwriter. Reception The album received mixed-to-favorable reviews. Anton Newcombe
Anton Alfred Newcombe (born August 29, 1967) is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and founder of the music group The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Newcombe was the subject of the 2004 documentary film '' Dig!'', along with Portland, Oregon alternative rock band The Dandy Warhols. Music Newcombe started in the 1980s recording with a band called Homeland. Besides his own group, Newcombe has worked with a number of bands, most notably The Dandy Warhols, The High Dials, The Manvils, Innaway, and The Quarter After. He recorded and produced Dead Meadow's album ''Got Live If You Want It (Dead Meadow album), Got Live if You Want It'', and recorded a cover of Ewan MacColl's song "Dirty Old Town" with Lorraine Leckie on her 2008 album ''Four Cold Angels''. Hopewell (band)
Hopewell is an American rock band. The band was founded by Jason Sebastian Russo, of Hopewell Junction, New York. At 19, Russo joined Mercury Rev, and then struck out on his own with a band named after his hometown. Career History In 1995, seminal Detroit-based space rock label Burnt Hair Records released the band's first single, a split with Michigan-based drone-ambient group Windy & Carl. Hopewell's first full-length, ''Contact'', came out on Burnt Hair in 1997. Their second release, 2001's ''The Curved Glass'', led to European distribution, festival appearances and a John Peel session. What followed was a transition period of line-up and stylistic changes. Most notable was the loss of Dalia Garih as drummer. Darkness, the direct opposite of lightness, is defined as a lack of lighting, illumination, an absence of visible spectrum, visible light, or a surface that absorbs light, such as black or brown.
