Fullback (American Football)
A fullback (FB) is a position in the offensive backfield in gridiron football, and is one of the two running back positions along with the halfback. Fullbacks are typically larger than halfbacks and in most offensive schemes the fullback's duties are split among power running, pass catching, and blocking for both the quarterback and the other running back. Many great runners in the history of American football have been fullbacks, including Jim Brown, Marion Motley, Bronko Nagurski, Jim Taylor, Franco Harris, Larry Csonka, John Riggins, Christian Okoye, and Levi Jackson. Aspermont, Texas
Aspermont is a town in the U.S. state of Texas, and is the county seat of Stonewall County. The population was 835 at the 2019 census. History The town was established in 1889. Aspermont means "rough mountain" in Latin, and is probably a reference to the nearby Double Mountains. The city was founded by A. L. Rhomberg of Swiss-Austrian descent, who might have been a descendant of the noble family Aspermont from Graubünden, which is known to have relocated to Dornbirn in the Austrian part of the Rhine Valley and changed the name to Rhomberg. Marshall Formby, later a Texas state senator, operated the ''Aspermont Star'' weekly newspaper in the middle 1930s. The paper is now known as the ''Double Mountain Chronicle ''. Hardin–Simmons Cowboys Football
The Hardin–Simmons Cowboys football team represents Hardin–Simmons University in the sport of college football. Hardin–Simmons began competing in intercollegiate football in 1897. The program rose to prominence under Frank Kimbrough who compiled a 47–8–3 record () as head coach from 1935 to 1940. Kimbrough's teams played in the 1936 and 1937 Sun Bowls, and his undefeated and untied 1940 team was ranked No. 17 in the final AP Poll. From 1941 to 1961, the team competed as a member of the Border Conference. During this time, the Cowboys won three conference championships: 1942 (shared with Texas Tech) and 1946 under head coach and College Football Hall of Fame inductee Warren B. Chicago Cardinals
The professional American football team now known as the Arizona Cardinals previously played in Chicago, Illinois, as the Chicago Cardinals from 1898 to 1959 before relocating to St. Louis, Missouri, for the 1960 through 1987 seasons. The 1960 American Football League season was the inaugural regular season of the AFL. It consisted of 8 franchises split into two divisions: the East Division (Buffalo Bills, Houston Oilers, Titans of New York, Boston Patriots) and the West Division (Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos, Dallas Texans, Oakland Raiders). Hardin–Simmons University (HSU) is a private Baptist university in Abilene, Texas. It is affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas (Southern Baptist Convention). History Hardin–Simmons University was founded as Abilene Baptist College in 1891 by the Sweetwater Baptist Association and a group of cattlemen and pastors who sought to bring Christian higher education to the Southwest.
