Pete Greenwood
Pete Greenwood (born 23 June 1980) is a British singer-songwriter. He is most well known for his debut album ''Sirens''. Greenwood is also known for his previous work with psychedelic rock band The See See and country rock band The Loose Salute. He has toured in Mojave 3 and Starsailor. Greenwood was born in Morley, Leeds, England and grew up in Headingley. Career Biography Pete Greenwood started his career playing guitar in pubs in South London, honing his craft surrounded by fellow troubadours of the early 2000s Folk scene. Pete attended Goldsmiths, University of London for a degree in music where encouraged by his professor Pete Astor, he wrote his first two songs there – "Any Given Day" and "Bats Over Barstow". With a reputation as one of the city's hottest Guitarists, Mojave 3 invited him on tour and he came back to a record deal with Heavenly Recordings. Morley, West Yorkshire
Morley is a market town and a civil parish within the City of Leeds metropolitan borough, in West Yorkshire, England. Morley is the largest town in the Borough of Leeds after Leeds itself. Morley forms part of the Heavy Woollen District. It lies approximately south-west of Leeds city centre. It was built on seven hills: Scatcherd Hill, Dawson Hill, Daisy Hill, Chapel Hill, Hunger Hill, Troy Hill and Banks Hill. Peter Astor (born 1960) is an English songwriter and solo artist, known for his work with The Loft, The Weather Prophets, The Wisdom of Harry and Ellis Island Sound. Doves (band)
Doves are an English indie rock band formed in Manchester. The band is composed of twin brothers Jez Williams (guitar, vocals) and Andy Williams (drums, vocals), and Jimi Goodwin (bass, vocals, guitar). Additionally, the band employs Martin Rebelski, as a touring and session musician on keyboards. The band released four studio albums between 2000 and 2009, two of which reached #1 on the UK album charts. A compilation album, '' The Places Between: The Best of Doves'', was released in April 2010. Doves went on hiatus in 2010. Rough Trade Records
Rough Trade Records is an independent record label based in London, England. It was formed in 1976 by Geoff Travis who had opened a record store off Ladbroke Grove. Having successfully promoted and sold records by punk rock and early post-punk and indie pop bands such as the Normal and Desperate Bicycles, Travis began to manage acts and distribute bands such as Scritti Politti and began the label, which was informed by left-wing politics and structured as a co-operative. Soon after, Rough Trade also set up a distribution arm that serviced independent retail outlets across Britain, a network that became known as the Cartel. In 1983, Rough Trade signed the Smiths.
