Peru National Under-17 Football Team
The Peru national under-17 football team represents Peru in international under-17 football competitions and is overseen by the Federacion Peruana de Futbol. Despite the current failures of the senior side, the Peruvian U-17 team has given brand new stars and hopes to Peruvian fans early in the year of 2007. After their first FIFA U-17 World Cup appearance in 2005 (Peru as host nation), the youth team greatly improved in skill and determination. Their first U-17 World Cup saw them lose with merely 1 point. Yet, they started the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup with a bang as they defeated the local South Korean team with an array of constant attacks and effective counter-attacks that completely overwhelmed their opponents. The U-17 team's success in 2007 came from the leadership of Juan Jose Ore, and the appearance of good players like Reimond Manco. Peruvian Football Federation
The Peruvian Football Federation ( es, Federación Peruana de Futbol or ) is the body that governs Association football in Peru. It was founded on August 23, 1922, and affiliated in 1924. A member of CONMEBOL since 1925, it directly oversees the Peru national football team, the Copa Federación, and the amateur leagues. It is indirectly involved in the organization of the Primera División (today Torneo Descentralizado), the Peruvian Primera División Femenina and Segunda División. 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup
The 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup was the 18th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the biennial international men's youth association football, football championship contested by the under-17 national teams of the member associations of FIFA. It was hosted by Brazil between 26 October and 17 November 2019. Originally, it was determined that Peru would have hosted the tournament between 5 and 27 October 2019, however, it was announced in February 2019 that they would no longer host the tournament, following inspection of the facilities and concern over organizational challenges. A formal announcement on 15 March 2019 ratified the recommendation to move the tournament to Brazil. 2011 South American Under-17 Football Championship
The 2011 South American Under-17 Football Championship ( es, link=no, Campeonato Sudamericano Sub-17 Ecuador 2011) was the 14th U-17 tournament for national teams affiliated with CONMEBOL. It was held in Ecuador from 12 March to 9 April 2011. This tournament gave four berths to the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which was held in Mexico, and also the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. The 2003 South American Under-17 Football Championship was played in Bolivia from 1 to 18 May 2003. The 1997 South American Under-17 Football Championship was played in Paraguay from 28 February to 16 March 1997. The host of the competition were the cities of Asunción, Pedro Juan Caballero and Encarnación. Sandro Hiroshi was banned for 180 days in 1999 when it was discovered that his age had been falsified in the 1997 tournament.
