Zvonimir Šeparović
Zvonimir Šeparović (14 September 1928 – 30 January 2022) was a Croatian jurist and politician. Biography Šeparović was a professor of Criminal Law at the University of Zagreb and rector of the University from 1989 to 1991. He was also known as the pioneer of victimology and a vocal opponent of death penalty. Although he lacked any formal party or political affiliation, in 1991 he became foreign minister in the "National Government" of Franjo Gregurić. In 1992 he became the Permanent Representative of Croatia to the United Nations. He remained active in public life and did at one point become both a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) as well as a member of the party's Central Committee. Ivan Šimonović
Ivan Šimonović (; born 2 May 1959) is a Croatian diplomat, politician and law scholar. In October 2008 he was appointed Justice Minister of Croatia. On 3 May 2010, Šimonović was appointed UN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights. Education and career Šimonović graduated from the University of Zagreb Law School in 1982. He obtained a doctoral degree in 1990, at the age of 31. Šimonović joined the Croatian diplomatic corps after the break-up of Yugoslavia. He was an assistant to Foreign Minister Mate Granić during the 1990s, although he never joined the ruling party, the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ). Neven Jurica (born 4 April 1952) is a Croatian politician who worked in Croatian diplomacy between 1992 and 2009. Between February 2008 and September 2009 he was the Permanent Representative of Croatia to the United Nations. Biography Jurica has a degree in comparative literature and philosophy, and a Master of Arts in literary theory from the University of Zagreb.
