Perivale Golf Course
Perivale () is an area of Greater London, west of Charing Cross. It is the smallest of the seven towns which make up the London Borough of Ealing. Perivale is mostly residential, with a library, community centre, a number of parks and open spaces, as well as a large industrial estate. Landmarks include the grade II* listed Art Deco Hoover Building, as well as St Mary's Perivale, St Mary's Church (c. 12th century), Horsenden Hill park and Perivale Wood Local Nature Reserve run by the Selborne Society. Perivale forms part of the UB6 postcode area, along with Greenford. Toponymy The name of Perivale was first used in 1508, where it was spelt "Pyryvale". The word seems to be a compound of perie (pear tree) and vale, a wide valley. Until then, Perivale was often called "Little Greenford" or "Greenford Parva", to distinguish it from its larger neighbour Greenford, Great Greenford. Perry Vale
Perry Vale is a neighbourhood and electoral ward in the London Borough of Lewisham. It is southeast of Charing Cross and located near Forest Hill to the east of Forest Hill railway station, where the railway line forms the western boundary. The ward is named after the main road Perry Vale which passes through, this road is part of the B227 road which is called Perry Rise further to the south. The electoral ward has existed since the London Borough of Lewisham revised its wards and ward boundaries in 2002. From 1978 to 2002 a similarly named ward Perry Hill existed. It was smaller and covered some of the same area, but was slightly more to the east. This ward was named after the A212 road which is called Perry Hill as it passes through running from Catford to Sydenham. History The area was once part of ancient wooded commons known as the Great North Wood and was not much settled before the 18th century.
