Agios Stefanos ( el, Άγιος Στέφανος meaning Saint Stephen) is a village and a community in the municipality West Achaea, Greece. It is located on both sides of the river Tytheus, 17 km southwest of Patras. As of 2011, Agios Stefanos had a population of 124 for the village and 901 for the community, which includes the villages Palaia Peristera and Fylakes. Agios Stefanos is part of the municipal unit of Olenia. Western Greece Region ( el, Περιφέρεια Δυτικής Ελλάδας, translit=Periféria Dhitikís Elládhas, ) is one of the thirteen administrative regions of Greece. Achaea () or Achaia (), sometimes transliterated from Greek as Akhaia (, ''Akhaïa'' ), is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Western Greece and is situated in the northwestern part of the Peloponnese peninsula. The capital is Patras which is the third largest city in Greece. Geography Achaea is bordered by Elis to the west and southwest, Arcadia to the south, and Corinthia to the east and southeast. The Gulf of Corinth lies to its northeast, and the Gulf of Patras to its northwest. The mountain Panachaiko (1926 m), though not the highest of Achaea, dominates the coastal area near Patras. Olenia ( el, Ωλενία) is a former municipality in Achaea, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality West Achaea, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 189.534 km2. Population 5,434 (2011). The seat of the municipality was in Lousika. The municipality is named after the ancient Achaean town Olenus.
